He's absolute worth a two year extension, even with his injury record. Eventually he will be our back up striker and who better?

Yeah and then in 2 years time we can derail this thread about players who should play for nowt at Stoke because they love the beautiful game... :bluestar:

Good striker, good lad, legs made of cheese. Should be our third choice striker as a nice problem to have when he's fit.

Cannot be relied on to be fit, despite his best efforts. No fault of his own, but that's just the way it is.

He's one of the best in the league man

I agree, he is made of glass.

But you have to counter that he is absolute class when fully fit and brings a huge amount to the team.

Take a punt on him that he doesn´t get injured this year and then have him as back up when we bring in osihmen/schick next year...:celb1:

If Bruce and Howe were data centre managers.

Howe will manage Wilson (and others) much better than they have ever been managed at the club, we'll not only see them on the pitch more often but we'll see them much fitter than we ever have.

We won’t be able to compare his fitness record under Bruce to what it will be this season, look at his games played under Howe at Bournemouth. Besides a couple freak injuries he was largely a an almost 30+ games a season player, I know age will play a part but Howe and his team will have him far better managed.

Precisely. Unlike other squad fillers like Almiron, Ritchie, Gayle etc, Wilson actually wins games when he starts. Considering we wouldn't get full value if we sold, he's well worth keeping a hold of in the hope he has a good spell clear of injury.

The club have the right idea in bringing in a quality younger striker to give him some competition for the shirt.

Jumpers for braincells.

 harsh.

hope he stays fit and does the business, could honestly see him in the England WC squad if he does.

this season should be his last chance though. we need to be ruthless in order to progress. if he gets another significant injury we should 100% be looking to move him on.

Aye, everyone forgets Bruce would always try and save his own bacon at the detriment of a player getting injured.

The biggest issue is the drop in quality when he's not available.

Maxi picks up a fair few injuries and takes a while to get his sharpness back as well.

Ekitike would have been great cover for both these positions.

Some weeks it was just embarrassing, all the fans knew it too.

After the injury “well sometimes Lady Luck just isn’t on your side, Callum looked sharp in training and he was probably back a day too soon. We’ll need to look internally as to who made the decision to bring him back a day early”.
