12 goals for a club owned by Mike Ashley, a team managed by Steve Bruce, and with an injury record that meant he only played 28 games.

You have my permission to go crazy without restriction. Best striker of the Ashley era.

He scored 12 goals in all comps for us the season before the takeover happened. Let’s not go crazy.

Our top scorer that season in a team managed by Steve Bruce.

Ashley era in isolation Ba was obviously better. 29 league goals in a season and a half. Such an unselfish player too.

Not for me, Geoff. Preferred Remy over Ba as well personally, but both also played in better teams and (somehow) under better managers than Wilson did pre-Howe. Being almost 1 in 2 under Bruce and in that team is impressive. All good players though and I do think it's between those 3 for who was best.

Let’s not go overboard, 33% of the goals were penalties in 20-21.

Hard to imagine now that this guy was part of the last England World Cup squad, also had an assist if I remember correctly. Unfortunately past it now.

Hardly Ivan Toney like and his other seasons speak for themselves. Even then, of those 28 appearances, 5 of them were him coming back from injury and only playing half an hour, his ratio works out as 0.5 per 90 that season, under Steve Bruce.

Stats aside I just think he was a much better player personally.

Considering the fact Callum is still ahead of Osula in the pecking order with only 9 games left to go, I’m not at all convinced that Eddie is prepared to let him go by the end of the season.

Do you still feel this way? Since his sub appearance against Liverpool he barely seems to have had a kick when he's been on the pitch. I'm wondering what Eddie is seeing that would make him think "yeah, he'll do me if we need to give Isak a rest".

There's absolutely no chance that Wilson will be playing for us next season, people need to get a grip.

Would be interesting to see how many touches of the ball he's had in his last 4 or 5 sub appearances. He comes on and disappears [emoji38]

0 touches today

5 touches vs Leicester

7 touches vs Brentford

9 touches vs West Ham

Played about an hour and 15 minutes combined. According to 'whoscored'.

This doesn’t meant much when it comes to Wilson he’s a poacher we really don’t want him touching the ball unless it’s in the box or a shot

Wilson contract weighted a bit towards appearances, and we’re being kind with this appearances to boost up his retirement funds after missing 50% of Newcastle games in his career?

There's genuinely no point in bringing him on now IMO, unless we think Osula will score a 40-yard own goal or something.

Only to give Isak 15 minutes break and to have a body on the pitch

Agreed, he's utterly finished.

I'm still having nightmares about that bit in the Cup Final where he tries to run the ball into the corner, weakly loses it and pathetically tries to chase the Liverpool player. It spoilt the whole day for me.

Obviously only gets minutes through past achievements dare I say it cannot wait for him to be offloaded.

So we might get to see young talent flourish.
