He would’ve been wasted here had he stayed. Probably would’ve kept being sent out on loan, never getting the chance to settle and play. Instead he was given the chance to play every week at Peterborough before moving to a terrific setup at Brentford.

Rather than the transfer itself, the issue is that we’re fucking shite at developing young players.

edit: this isn’t a defense of our transfer policy, mind.

Yeah, really admirable how both he and Armstrong made something of themselves the hard way.

Southampton seem to have an excellent strategy for this game, pressing well and attacking frequently, really giving it a go and City finding it hard to find space. Contrast that with the amount of space we allowed Leeds first half last night. Noticeable that City are looking much more dangerous last 5-10 though.

Admirable half that from Saints. Defending and attacking as a team, not afraid to have a go and playing with a clear philosophy and team spirit. Limited City to a few half chances, mainly Grealish cutbacks/crosses from the byline. Would love to see Newcastle go here and play like this. Can't believe i'm jealous of fucking Southampton

Not sure because only BT have the rights to the early game and they are showing the Chelsea city game.

Manchester United's Premier League fixture with Aston Villa at Old Trafford has been given a new kick-off time.

A club statement reads: “Our home match against Aston Villa on 25 September has been brought forward to a 12.30 BST kick-off, following a request from Trafford Council Safety Advisory Group to move the game due to the Courteeners concert at Lancashire Cricket Club, Emirates Old Trafford, on the same day.
