Arsenal v Newcastle United (FAC) - 09/01/2020 @ 17:30 (live on BBC1)

Playing Carroll with no wingers, no set piece specialists and two defensive FBs is next level thinking.

Makes perfect sense from an anti-football POV. Everyone defending their own box, hoof the ball clear rather than ponce about trying to play your way out, and let the big lads win a few headers up front. Wingers or attacking midfielders would require taking risks playing in the opposition half.

The plan will be to keep it scoreless as long as possible, and hope for a corner where Carroll or Clark can get a goal from a header against Arsenal who traditionally don't defend them so well.

Clearly s*** scared of Sheffield United

TBF, Bruce absolutely has to win that.

No he doesn't. Why?

I mean, obviously he probably won’t get sacked no matter what. But in any other world, massive pressure would come on him if he lost that. After the run we’ve been on.

It’s almost as if there’s no thought behind it.

There is tbf, he's thinking "oo-er, I don't fancy this much, if we pack the defence maybe we can stop them somehow."
