He's faster than Bruno, Longstaff & Miley. Probably on par with Tonali. Tonali is meant to be very fast isn't he? I remember it coming out he had the fastest sprint time in matchday 2 of the champions league.
Upthemags
I think he looks out of place on the wing and much more natural in the midfield. Also have every expectation he'll turn it around when his fitness levels return. He was fantastic last season despite no goals to show for it. No way is he the same pace as Tonali…Sandro is pretty quick for a cm, it’s one of the things I noticed about him in the under 21 tournament.

I'll stand corrected. Haven't seen enough of Tonali and can't remember any sprints that stood out to me as wew that's fast Still think Andersons pace is more than adequate for a CM though. gbandit
Tonali is actually pretty quick. After Willock, he’s our quickest in the middle by a distance id say. Miley, Longstaff and Bruno are all snails

Apparently in 2021 Tonali recorded fastest sprint in the entirety of Serie A. https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-A/Milan/05-05-2021/theo-leao-frecce-milan-ma-qualcuno-piu-veloce-loro-410720935933.shtml
nemtizz
Should replace Longstaff as soon as he’s fit enough.

CPL
Loved that he actively tried to take control of the game demanding the ball and wanting to drive or play it forward.
Pilko
Good cameo today, would start him Tuesday.
toontownman
Longstaff has needed a rest for a while. Like many others. With a quick turn around to Tuesday we should surely see Almiron/Anderson/Barnes all starting. Maybe Hall or a tripps return too.
Gallowgate Toon
Aye, Sean needs taking out of the firing line. Anderson showed some real snap today in his tackling/pressing and was excellent with his decision-making on the ball. It's a shame he's not more of an athlete. Holloway
Is Anderson slow, like. Dan Burn slow, Bruno slow,ia he quicker than Schar, what ?

Barnes and Hall probably have to play considering all the injuries and Gordon missing.

Nah, he's not that bad at all, but he'd be absolutely fantastic with a bit more speed. Still, loads to work with.
Holloway
I'd love to see the rankings of say 5 x 50m dashes for our squad, like. Given than half the team are reckoned to be snail like in their athletic prowess
Newcastle Fan
Much better than Longstaff, i think giving how things and working out both him and Miley will over take Sean unless he starts getting his game back up.
Smal
Think he can replace some of the physicality we’re missing with Joelinton out, you know. In his 30-odd minutes he won 6/8 duels (3/3 ground duels) compared to ie Longstaff’s 3/13 or even Willock’s 4/7 and Bruno’s 8/17. He brings energy and physicality as well as some extra technical security. Edited March 31, 2024 by Smal
Menace
I don't know what his best position is, but I hope we can convert him to a box to box midfielder, we have plenty of depth for left wing...

Not sure how sustainable it is for a full game, especially considering his injury history, but it was great to see as an option.
Smal
he definitely has leadership qualities as well. Ever since he broke into the team he’s always been shouting at his teammates and trying to lead the press. Again, really think that’s something we miss in midfield currently. Definitely deserves to start ahead of Longstaff atm, even if we just get 60 minutes out of him. Edited March 31, 2024 by Smal
Kanj
love the way he's so aggressive in the press (high up the pitch, he's sensational) and then the quick shifting of the ball from left to right to create space.
