No chance he gets in any top 6 starting 11 right now. He's a decent PL player, can't see any justification to suggest he's shown a higher level than that to date.

 

The fact we where forced to sell him and so got a bad deal is annoying, but there's no reason to be wishing he'll comeback.

But it’s just because he’s English and playing for a lesser side, he won’t get the traction. He’ll be in full England set up this season, 100%, then his name will start getting linked to the top sides as we head towards summer 2026. I think he’d be great for Arsenal and compliment Rice / Odegaard.

 

Decent Prem Level player for me is a very good player. Get them in a side that has more of that level with a couple of exceptional players, you have a title challenging side.

The sad thing is that PSR encourages us to sell players like Anderson. He would be useful player and perhaps would allow us to sell Joelinton to Saudi in a year or two.
He might get England call up, but on the other hand he is 23 next November, so he should be pretty soon if he is a top player. 

With "decent prem level player" I mean players that are not good enough for a bigger role in top club, but could be valuable squad players. Bit like Curtis Jones, younger Callum Wilson, Tosin, Jacob Ramsay, Ross Barkley, Raul Jimenez....

 

I might not make any sense with my posts. But I'd like to have him in our squad in place of Willock.

How good is he actually becoming though? It's not like he's scored loads of goals or got loads of assists for Forest has he? He seems pretty much the same player he was for us, good all action type of contributions but not quite there yet as an attacking force.

He is definitely a decent player but not good enough to be playing regularly for a team with our ambitions . Not knocking the lad he will have a decent enough career but he would only ever have been a squad player here .

I'm of the opposite opinion. He was a key player in a team that almost finished in the top 6. He has great technique, awareness and football IQ and he is only 22. Football isn't just a numbers game for individuals so his goals and assists aren't going to sway any viewpoint of mine. The lad will be playing at a very high level if he stays fit

Football is a squad game and he would get plenty of games as a 4th choice for a champions league side. Especially for us as a homegrown player.

I think most people would rather have had him here as part of our squad, especially considering we got fuck all for him in return in £15m. But we had to sell him because of PSR so I'm not really sure what we are discussing. Is it because posters think we should bring him back?

That’s plenty of minutes for a breakout season and it’s silly to say otherwise. That’s what you want from a young player and what we would’ve wanted for Miley this season gone.

1,100 minutes is not "lots of game time" for a 21-year old. Never has - never will be. That's a bit part player. Yes injuries played a factor but doesn't stop the basic fact that he never got the minutes. He never got a good run in the side.

Apart from the fact he's a bit "handsy" I think he's a tremendous player. Reached this level he's at now, however, by leaving. It may have been reluctantly by both him and the club but you're deluded if you think his progression would've been the same if he'd stayed. 

 

I mean, it's ridiculous to disregard him playing a full season in a team having a dream season who, not to be dismissed either, play an entirely different way to us. No way would he be where he's at now if he hadn't gone AND to Forest, for that matter.

He’s improved as much as he has because he’s played pretty much week in week out in the PL for a season now, he wouldn’t have had that here last season.
