Joe Willock has not trained yet but is making 'good progress' (Howe)

Recommended Posts

Agreed, him and Isak could link in together very nicely. That ball Willock threaded to Isak was perfect at the weekend. We’re used to Willock running at people on the wings but if he could do it more centrally and then release the ball to Isak it could be devastating

Who is this guy? [emoji38] Although a fair bit of this looks like it was done on the break.

Didn't he go through a purple patch of scoring 8 in a row or something? Feels unfathomable now.

Aye, matched Shearer's record for us. He's been probably all round better under Howe though imo, just sans the goals.

He’s absolutely amazing to watch when in full flight. If we could have people pulling players away from him so he could run more at defences he’d be really destructive. He doesn’t have the trickery but his pace would be enough to do the damage

He has an unreal ability to scoot a ball by someone and blast by them.

His finishing looks terrible now, but his all round game is actually much better.

Our best player today.

Agreed, thought he was fantastic on and off the ball. Really hope he keeps that level of performance because he added so much today. Sometimes the way he moves with the ball is so graceful.

We seriously missed Joelinton in midfield and I think Bruno especially really suffered without him.

Willock was very good on the ball though, love him. Really pleased he got the assist his play in previous games has maybe deserved.

He was outstanding, that ball he played for Miggy was so easy in a way, but in reality most players overhit those balls or get the angle just wrong. His link up play was great, was a real complete performance. Shame he didn’t get that goal too from the strike from six yards
