The minimum that can happen for this not to go to the last day is for us to draw at QPR and Wigan to lose against Chelsea which is just not going to happen.

f*** sake man.

You mean Arsenal?

Aye.

It's going to be tight, aside from the obvious Wigan/Us/mackems and now Norwich conundrum, there's a few other sides who whould be nervous.

If Stoke are going to lose to the mackems, you'd expect them also to lose at home to Tottenham next week. This means they'll be on 40 points going into the last day, away to Southampton.

Southampton themselves are being tipped to lose to the mackems next weekend, so they will be stuck on 39 going into the last day of the season.

The other outsiders are Fulham who are on 40 points but finish with Liverpool at home and Swansea away, so they could go into the last day of the season with the risk of going down.

Wigan by that point should have 38 if, as expected, they beat Swansea but lose at Arsenal.

Which leaves us on 38 with QPR away and Norwich on 38 with WBA to visit Carrow Road. I expect Norwich to beat WBA given how WBA crumbled today but who knows. Hopefully we can win at QPR, which would set up a very tasty last day where many teams could go down but I hope we don't need to rely on us beating Arsenal, as that just isn't going to happen.

Looking at it realistically, in my opinion...

I can see Sunderland beating both Stoke and Soton, which makes them safe.

Can see Norwich getting a point against W Brom, or beating them, West Brom are in pretty rank form at the mo. Man City to beat Norwich on last day though.

Wigan to beat Swansea on Tuesday, lose to Arsenal, then I have no idea about them vs Villa last game of season, could go either way!

Soton are safe I think, as are teams above them.

I feel fucking sick, just ran through the BBC predictor and it came out with us relegated. Us, Norwich and Wigan all on 39 points and us losing out on goal difference... I can't handle another drop in to the Championship, I feel numb. (That was with a draw at QPR)

Hahaha i'm telling myself they will beat Norwich next week

If we better their result next week I think we'll be safe. Can't see them getting a result on the final day.

Yep this is exactly how i see it.

It's my last crumb of comfort really. A scenario where we don't have to win another game to survive.

It'll be monumentally shit if we go down but after watching the Liverpool match, half of me pretty much gave up hope of staying up so I feel like I've been readying myself for the worst.

Still holding out for a result at QPR but it all feels like it's still slipping away from us being realistic.

The matches on Monday and Tuesday will tell us a lot on our survival chances. Until then I'm selectively blanking my mind for the next few days. One week of worrying leading to today is sufficient to kill more than a few brain cells and that's enough for now.

I've resigned myself to us going down now and if we stay up I'll have a nice surprise rather than letting it piss me off when it happens.

I've started paying for my season ticket for next season but I'll possibly not use it if Pardew is still here.

8. Between us and Norwich. Absolutely unbelievable position we're in, considering our squad. Pardew has really outdone himself.

Completely agree. How the fuck do you contrive to take this squad down?

I feel like hibernating until the first day of next season and see what division I'm watching us in. These next two weeks will be horrible and so will the summer probably.

I'm up to a 7 now, although that's more blind hope than expectation. I said last week the best I expected was a point at West Ham and one at Loftus Road. I've seen nothing to make me change my mind. I'm just hoping Norwich will do worse than us, because I don't think we've got enough attacking desire to win next week.
