Skeletor
So, with my doom-monger magic specs on, Cardiff at home second last game is going to be next season's QPR, where we have one final chance to haul ourselves to safety or face being relegated at Anfield. Not necessarily. We could be relegated way before that.
Tiresias
Was previously thinking that if we start terribly at least Pardew will get the boot in time to recover, but now think that'll happen then Kinnear steps in and we do worse
Segun Oluwaniyi
Can't see how anyone isn't worried about relegation. We flirted with it last year. The squad will be worse - we'll almost certainly get lose some of our best players over the summer, and their replacements (if we even get replacements) won't be of the same quality. Even if Pardew stays, he's still the tactically inept manager he was last season, and now he's got the only person more clueless than him whispering in his ear. And I've not even started to mention all the unrest and loss of morale all this is bound to cause. Unless Ashley goes this summer, we're doomed. Our current squad is much better than relegation. Especially with some of the newer players having time to adjust to the league, team, and culture. Our injury situation was diabolical in 2012-2013 and hit us in extremely key areas. An improvement in that luck and the situation will improve. None of the things you are talking about have happened yet and nothing is imminent other than paper talk and fear mongering on the forum. If we are holding everything ceteris paribus, I would expect a finish anywhere from 8th to 13th. Also, I genuinely don't believe Kinnear will have a great effect on our results unless the rumours are correct and he pushes Pardew out. The guy is an embarrassment to have represent the club, but even if he brings in only "English plodders", the extra bodies and depth will be useful. I am only worried if we tear the team apart. nemtizz
I know this is Mike Ashley and Newcastle United we're talking about here, but has a Director of football ever stepped in to manage the team?

Bollock face did in his first stint at Portsmouth, came in as DOF, then took over when Graham Rix was doing shite.

Dokko
We're going to end the opening round of fixtures in the relegation zone, if we don't we've done well.

David28
I know this is Mike Ashley and Newcastle United we're talking about here, but has a Director of football ever stepped in to manage the team? Keegan? As well as Kinnear (as mentioned). Also, Avram Grant at Chelsea. There was some example in the Bundesliga as well that I can't remember right now. I mean how can he possibly sabotage the team and its tactics anymore than Pardew already does? We only managed to stay up due to having too much quality to go down, despite Pardews best efforts. He's an embarrassing wanker, a poor manager and god forbid he replaces Pardew instead of someone competent. But I'm struggling to see why people think his team selections and tactics would necessarily be worse than the shite our current manager serves up every week. Oakie Doke
call me pedantic, but the "no chance" next to the 1 on the poll is bothering me. Surely if there's a 1 in 10 chance, that's a chance. Restart the poll with an added '0' option if the intention really is to see how many users think there's no chance of us being relegated. Just how committed to this are we?
