matta
If we continue to take points against the teams below us, and the odd win/draw those just above us, we should comfortably be safe. Alot more confident now. However you never know when we're gonna pull of the next 3 month winless streak. Fulham victory would be massive. 5/
Guest
Burnley go to Arsenal, Palace at Man City, Huddersfield v Southampton & Cardiff v Man U. If we win, chances are a lot of clubs below us are dropping points, could be the breathing space we need with the tough fixtures coming back around. Decky
The Fulham game could be huge. Win and we're looking very good. Lose though and its complete panic stations all round.
Guest
Course it isn’t, man. Lose and we’ll still have a 3 point gap at least you’d think.
Decky
At the minute yeah, but over the course of the season you're looking 3 points from this game. If we were to go down on GD, or by a point or two this game is exactly one we'll remember if we lose it.
AsprillasShinPad
The Fulham game could be huge. Win and we're looking very good. Lose though and its complete panic stations all round. Howay man. I'm the most negative fucker on here, and I'm a 3 at worst. Still be a 3 if we lose.
ToonArmy1892
4 points were needed from Huddersfield and Fulham and we got them.
samptime29
5 points clear with a much better goal difference. We've not conceded against Cardiff, Southampton, Palace, Huddersfield and Fulham. We're grinding it, but not the worst position to be in.
ToonArmy1892
People complain about our attack, but the clean sheets we get are what will keep us up.
Ketsbaia
4 points were needed from Huddersfield and Fulham and we got them. Aye, would've felt much better if it had happened the other way round so we did what we had to do. Still though, today's performance was pitiful. Robster
Feels like I'm the only one who wants us to go down. Until we are sold, being in the premier league is utterly pointless.

Nope, if ashley is not selling would rather see his investment go tits up.
ToonArmy1892
Would we have taken 5 points clear (and far better GD) at Christmas, at the start of the season? Yes for me.
toon25
It’s difficult to say really. Can’t really complain given the absolute shite we’ve got in this squad, but it really looks as though the league is separating out into 3 groups now. With Southampton bound to improve under their new manager, we could quite easily be pulled in within a short space of time.
ToonArmy1892
Liverpool is a write off, but i don't see why we can't get at least 3 points from Watford and Man Utd. Quite glad our next home game is against a big team, it will take the pressure off a little, and the crowd will be more up for it than usual.
SEMTEX
Not so sure about Man Utd like. They've got some good players even if Mou was trying to pretend otherwise. And OGS is certainly going to get them shooting...

Guest ElCid
Still at a 5 as in 50/50 but I certainly would not put money on staying up that's for sure - need to change the way we pay at home 7 points out of 27 is totally unacceptable and if anything it will be the home form which sees us go down. Lush Vlad
Would we have taken 5 points clear (and far better GD) at Christmas, at the start of the season? Yes for me. Probably. Seems the bottom half of the league is somehow even worse than last year, though and it’s the way most pf the games have gone that worry me. Just dire to watch and clueless in attack. We have a bottom 3 squad, but Rafa will probably be the difference and we’ll finish about 15th-16th because of his tactics.
Yorkie
Would we have taken 5 points clear (and far better GD) at Christmas, at the start of the season? Yes for me. Offered at the start off the season? Probably not. Offered at 6pm after losing at home to Brighton, leaving us rock bottom? Definitely. Rafa is constantly fire-fighting and his methodology appears to be very similar to what it was last season, because the squad has barely improved: we've got a better striker and a better centre-back, but the likes of Diame and Kenedy have regressed horribly. Anyway, Rafa's plan left us well clear of the drop-zone and unrealistically high come May. Make sure we've got the best goal difference in the bottom pack, rotate the side, build the system on defensive solidity and attack on the break. There was a lot of poxy results born out of a defensive mindset (we drew at home to Swansea last season as well, for instance). A couple of signings came in and he settled on a team, then it was more-or-less plain sailing. The squad is barely fit for purpose but we've got a manager who knows what he's doing. samptime29
Cardiff home game is must win IMO, but it would be a lovely bonus if we could somehow nibble a win or 2 draws from Watford/Man Utd. It could be so tight that goal difference keeps us up.
