Never any doubt. As if we do anything before 1st passing through of new BFF Masters. He probably told us the upper limit for the year and how much we can grow after.

Given our qualification for the champions league I felt we could have gotten more. The scouters should be grateful.

Especially since they are getting £50m a year from their sponsors. That's double the money we are getting, and they aren't even a Champion's League club.

The Echo is a Reach outlet, the same company who owns the Mirror, the Chronicle and loads more local newspapers around the country. That article is simply copied and pasted or double linked from the Chronicle onto their other websites, probably because we are Premier League rival to two of Liverpools clubs. They will probably have it dotted about elsewhere.

No it’s a Liverpool based journalist who writes for the Echo Dave Powell. They’re fucking rattled to fuck simple as.

It’s been rumoured for ages. I doubt it means they will buy a top club though. They have been rumoured to be investing in clubs in Portugal outside of the top 3/4, and rumoured to be investing in a French team who have at best yo-yo’d between Ligue 1/2.

The article explains it pretty well - they were looking at lower-tier clubs, but since UEFA softened their stance on clubs with the same owners competing against each other in Europe they are now considering going for bigger clubs.

Basically the issue would have been if we and whichever club they bought both qualified for the Champions League, now that issue has gone.

That doesn’t sound like great news for us regarding the separation issues

Separation issues wasn't the issue, was it?

It was the piracy, regardless of the PL statement, wasn't it?

100%.  The ‘separation’ stuff was only ever there to nail the KSA state on piracy.  There’s nowt in the rules re a HoS owning a PL club.

That's right but the PIF argument was that MBS would have no involvement in the running of the club and therefore didn't have to be put through the Owners and Directors Test.

It was just an excuse to delay it until the piracy was sorted out obviously but the reason it took so long, then stalled completely, was that the PL said "MBS is going to exert control, we want him listed as a Director and do the ODT" and the club said "No he isn't so he isn't going to be listed as a Director and he isn’t doing the test".

As soon as someone who isn't listed as a Director with the PL starts to exert some sort of influence or control over a club you could have bother, if the PL were bothered enough to do something about it.

I heard that the translation is wrong and that he said the opposite, waiting to hear a confirmation

Yep, bad translation. She meant the decision making process can bypass the crown prince if the majority of votes went against him. That’s what he said and he gave an example for it.
