Great news. Does anyone know how £6m compares with other premier league teams that have a training ground sponsor?

They've invested so much money in to the club, it's actually astonishing

"The Public Investment Fund (PIF; Arabic: صندوق الاستثمارات العامة) is the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia. It is among the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world with total estimated assets of US$941 billion."

US$941 billion.

NUFC are 0.9% of PIF's investment portfolio.

Yup and it's massively unprofitable. If you take a step back what they actually spent actually hasnt touched the sides from a financial perspective of what needs to be done.

Also really good how it's a completely non-PIF brand, so no risk of the PL or UEFA arguing about FMV. Great to finally get something like this announced.

I wouldn't count on that. Company with barely any footprint, and linked to UFC who are well in bed with the Saudis aren't they? Can't imagine they have the budget to be spending this sort of money off their own back.

"Effective from 1 July 2026, the club's Training Centre at Darsley Park will be officially renamed The KNOX. In an historic first for the club, the partnership also includes the sleeve sponsorship on training wear for the Men's, Women's, and Academy teams."

Just bear in mind - £6m a year - what will it be should we have a new world class facility…

At least double

I was about to say similar, smells of the classic energy drink money laundering operation we see with other energy drink brands.

Also hydration drinks are the biggest marketing cons going along with added protein food.

From The Athletic's article - https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7163381/2026/04/02/newcastle-training-ground-kit-knox-analysis/

"For Newcastle to secure £6m a year for their present training ground — which, although currently being renovated as part of an ongoing £30m expansion, the club have publicly stated they will move away from in search of a “10-out-of-10” facility — feels unexpected. Once they add a front-of-training-kit sponsor, which insiders feel could be even more lucrative, Newcastle believe the cumulative value will rank alongside the clubs mentioned above."

Yeah it stinks of a shell company via back channels.

Based on my extensive knowledge (via Google in the last 3 minutes), seems like they were founded by former UFC fighters in South Africa, hence their ties. The Athletic also called out that Hopkinson specifically wanted to diversify away from PIF brands, so hopefully there's nothing shady here. But who knows.

Fingers crossed it is because that is ambitious.

Yeah if you line it up with selling the SJP lease to ourselves hopefully its an awakening rather than a fire fighting exercise.

If he lands a front of training kit sponsor as well it sets a really good marker down for the club mind. It's showing the entire club he's laying down a marker and it isn't solely on Eddie to do so.
