This sort of data-led approach to signing little known gems is exactly the road we need to take seeing as the well known players we want seemingly have no interest in joining us over Chelsea, Liverpool, even fucking Man Utd. We will get the odd one or two (Botman, Bruno, Tonali) but we need to be supplementing with good value for money signings from more obscure sources. Amazed it's taken this long for us to go down this route to be honest

Those teams already heavily use data gurus etc. everyone does. It’s hardly some new football frontier. 
 

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a solid step, but probably not the game-changer some are making it out to be. Doubt we’ll notice much difference from the stands.

Apparently he was involved in signing Hojlund from Sturm Graz for Atalanta. I suspect we're going to go the analytics route rather than just punt EPL players each window.
