Maybe he's just fucking wrecked after drinking like fuck for the last month. Could probably do with a few days in hospital myself for a full body MOT after we won that cup.

He was taken in cause he was struggling to breathe (probably from one of the many flus doing current rounds) from what I've been telt (same bloke who mentioned the injuries i stuck on here before it was made public) -he's fine

Give it Mad Dog til the end of the season.

And then Eddie can come back new and refreshed to oversee our assault on the quadruple next season.

Just goes to show flu is a cunt no matter how fit you are. Howes fitter than most his age and it's still wrecked him like this.

Yeah but in fairness most are old or vulnerable. It very rarely hospitalises people of Howes category.

Yeah, whatever it is, he should give himself the time for a full recovery. I'm assuming it's a virus, and the after-effects can linger.

He gives so much of himself to his work, and perhaps he needs a proper break.

The “bantz” over why he is in hospital is pretty grim like, especially when you don’t know what is going on.

For example, my mate was fit as a fiddle 2 months ago, went to the GP in first week of February with shortness of breath. A couple of days later he was told he had stage 4 stomach cancer which has spread to his lungs and lymph nodes.

I’m up for a bit of light heartedness at most things in life, but health is one of the few exceptions.

Maybe I’m just a boring old man now.

I think you're naturally sensitive given the awful diagnosis your friend has received. Many would be in your position. Probably best just avoiding the thread as there is absolutely zero malice in what is being posted.

I hope your mate is doing as well as he can.

Yeah, one of my best friends ended up in hospital with pneumonia off the back of having a nasty flu when he was in his early 30s. He was fit as a fiddle before that too. So it certainly can be horrible, even for younger people.

Whatever the problem is, hope Eddie makes a swift and full recovery.

Hoping what I've heard tonight isn't true. Story goes he's not been handling the stress of the job well. Supposedly he's been taking some heavy meds to help deal with it, but he's had a reaction and it's blown out his Shatner's Bassoon. He thinks he's in 1933 now.

Basically, everyone is listing all illnesses that either they, or someone they know, has had in the last few weeks

All I’ve got to contribute is that Mark Paxton caught knobrot off some tart

We had that in the garden. Absolute nightmare. Hang on, I might mean knotweed.
