The Prophet
The British media will get far more page views from speculating about OGS's potential sacking/replacement, so they're less likely to recycle the usual guesswork in relation to us. It seems the Fonseca leak largely came from his end.

Prior to his Leicester stint most would have turned their noses up at Rodgers I'm pretty sure. The defending for Rodger's Leicester teams hasn't been that consistently solid either has it? And most would be happy to have him come in. I don't know I could see Howe take a step forward with us but let's see who they ultimately choose before getting too deep into that convo. Rodgers did what Howe did at Swansea -got them up and kept them up. Overall, he did a good job at Liverpool - they let him go primarily because Klopp was available and willing. Had they given him another year and smarter recruitment - he would've done a very good job. Overall - good job at a massive club imo. Celtic he was a massive success. At the very least he showed he was a very good coach and a step above the dross. The domination domestically, the goals, the style and competitive in Europe. The Celtic job proved he was a serious manager. Howe is all the way back to the Swansea days.
SUPERTOON
Howe gives me Pardew vibes I think he would be a disastrous appointment.
Ganninup
From what i hear - Graeme Jones had a huge amount of input since he came in, and bar the days off thing- the style of football & the weird selections etc is unlikely to change. Now i know the bar is so low that we see making them come in to training more as an improvement yes but i would be very very worried if hes here for more than/longer than the chelsea game. HaydnNUFC
Howe is a young, progressive coach lightyears from the PFMness of Pardew. Would be far from a disastrous appointment but not the best one we could make.

It was his personality that tended to fuck things up as opposed to his coaching

Howe, Potter and maybe even Parker are far from Pardew, Wilder, maybe even Hughton.
wfmk2
PFM? I keep see it coming up in the thread. I know it's a reference to British dinosaur managers, but can't work out what PFM actually stands for!

He was commuting between the two places and couldn't cope with the mental torment without his family around him. He said in the same article that he doesn't see this as an issue for him going forwards (working away from the south coast).

You cant truly judge Howe, Potter and Parker vs the Pardew we now know and love now. They are all at different stages in their career. I think Parker has a long way to go. Howe did a great job at Bournemouth for a number of years but then was relegated. Parker has had a promotion and a relegation but hasnt achieved what Howe has. Potter so far seems to be showing he can do more than just keep a small club up, but again early days. Personally if we go english we should gamble and go for Potter in my opinion. Id prefer someone non British if only because of the media. Sad to say this as my happiest times were with Keegan and Robson as manager.
LFEE
Anyone know why Howe deliberated for months over the Celtic job when all agreed for him to ultimately turn it down at the 11th hour?

Celtic are terrible and need a full on rebuild with no money while rangers are doing okay and on the up. It was a bad job. But equally I don’t really rate Howe so at least he had the foresight not to take on the job.

My suspicion was he needed to convince his family to move North and couldn’t in the end.
