We didn't crash out of the CL. We were in by far the hardest group and if not for a ridiculous last minute penalty decision against PSG things may well have been different.

And on the injuries a couple of points. Firstly there was plenty of rotation and substitutions going on. Go look at our games last season before the injuries happened. Frequently using all 5 subs and rotating if players. This thing about him not rotating is a bit of a myth to me. He mainly stopped doing it when he didn't really have a choice. And secondly a number of the injuries were just freak ones that weren't really to do with game load. The sort that can happen any time and just so happened to occur at the worst possible time.

That's not to say lessons won't have been learnt from that season, or that the increased load doesn't present a challenge. But I'm no way near as pessimistic about it, especially as after a few windows of pain I expect we should be able to strengthen.

Very important quote that, this is why I think our current form is much more than just momentum and confidence. It’s a mindset shift and a realisation that we have to think of ourselves as an elite club at all times. One who can compete with anyone but also crush the poorer sides.

Absolutely, and I do believe this attitude is an important thing we look for when recruiting players. The likes of Botman who will be in a foul mood if we concede even when we win, Tonali, Bruno, Gordon… All unassuming hard workers who won’t stand for merely participating, but seem obsessed with battling, hard graft and winning.

We should let him have a week's holiday twice a season when we play Bournemouth. Jokes aside, you hopefully put this down to a bad day and move on.

But, it's a good thing we don't go behind much at home, because when we do we basically idle away the time creating fuck all chances and we're a dream for the opposition.

Fucking disgusting how we never put in a performance against them or Everton.

Fucking getting sick of it.

Play well against teams we who we do well to punch our weight against, then have these performances man. 4-1 at home to Bournemouth, 3-1 against Fulham, 2-0 against West Ham, 4-2 against Brentford. It’s fucking disgusting and it needs to fucking stop.
