I start to think Eddie is a “slow learner”. Had he realised his mistake and take actions earlier we should be in better positions last season and this season.

That said at least he has learnt before it’s too late. I would say we have turned the corner and we have a decent chance to finish top 6 & above. I am pleased for Eddies work these few games.

Now we should hope for some lady luck re our injuries, and also no bid from Man City for Bruno.

eddie will sleep better tonight.

I knew my post would be provocative, but damn, you guys dont pull your punches do you?

On a serious note I do think Eddie slept better tonight and felt like a massive weight have been lifted off his shoulders. Thought you could see from some of his interviews that he was under alot of pressure. Im so happy for him.

Now please forgive us fickle beings, forget who said what and let everyone take part of what you be a great feelgood factor around the club going forward ;)

Out of curiosity, which results would you / others bemoan? (Genuine question)

For me, West Ham at Home and Fulham away should have been better.

But that's football....

Think we're in a good position heading into 2025.

I think Brighton, Everton and West Ham (first half) were all results that didn't really match our performances and our finishing let us down.

Some kid on Total Sport annoyed John Anderson by mentioning the misses yesterday.

"your team wins 4-0 away and some are still looking for negativity" (paraphrase)

It's a bit like Murphy cupping his ear "What? What?"

It is all very well celebrating wins but there's been so many frustrating games this season where we've fluffed good chances and blown up.

Especially stark in these league when, more often than not, chances are few and far between. Especially away.

That West Ham and Brighton 6 points and we'd be 4th.. I hope it doesn't bite us in the * at the end of the season

But we didn’t win them because we weren’t good enough.

I personally understand the likes of Murphy reacting a certain way. Because he gets far more shit than someone like Gordon who when he misses a sitter fans will sing his name to re-encourage him, Murphy and similar get audible gasps and no doubt the occasional audible (for the players) abuse.

I've just put it in the Murphy thread but folk should have lesser expectations of lesser quality players and should really rally behind them when giving their all and actually having a good spell. This should be done with all players not just those with lesser ability. Yet folk only seem willing to get behind those with a higher general ability. Gordon has probably missed more and more important sitters this season and played generally below his high level and little is said.

I love Gordon by the way. Just don't like how lesser (generally) able players get shit so easily.

Totally agree matey. Said as much to Mrs G when Murphy did that. Some of the rhetoric directed at (certain) players can be borderline horrific dressed up as "legitimate criticism"

There's an underbelly of it in all team's supporter communities. We're no different. I mean, I laugh my tits of when the geniuses on here seriously think they've spotted something Howe hasn't 😂

Even yesterday's good performance still had people looking for someone to deride. Little Joe this weekend, it seems 😂

On the subject of missed chances, we've just watched MotD and it was good to see Murphy, himself, say Isak should've had 5 😂😂😂

Isak will have thought the same. That's the thing. Cause he has higher standards because of his ability.

Whereas Murphy is and rightly so, chuffed he's been probably our most productive attacking playing in December.

Eddie Howe on team-news: “Joe [Willock] is fine. To keep Joe fit for a sustained spell is now really important for him to get back to his very best level - it will take him a period of games. Nick [Pope] is doing okay, he has had a couple of injections in his knee, quite when he will be fit it is still difficult to give a definitive date.”

Nick states the next game then [emoji38] (probably not).

Statement win that today, I know villa have slipped off recently away from home but they're still a quality team. That's as impressive a 3-0 as you'll see, the red helped obviously but we carved them open again and again. We looked sharp and switching Bruno and Tonali had benefited us going in both directions, we're creating and simultaneously look solid and we've kept teams to potshots really. Dubravka had barely had a shot to save fur hours now.

I absolutely had doubts a month back but he's flipped it around, we look excellent again and he deserves the credit, can't wait for Monday night now
