He has said it over and over, he hasn’t achieved anything yet - certainly not obtained some of his higher end goals and his wife and family know that’s what drives him. I know why he says that, and ultimately for us sure, but saving Bournemouth from implosion then taking them to the premier league (and staying for for a fair few seasons) was a huge achievement. He is certainly a better coach now, he used the time away well, but I hope he either privately does, or one day give himself huge credit for that. Im finding his squad building and observing his tactics an interesting watch. I think he’s really doubling down on Plan A. Really physical signings, maybe not as technical as I would like. But Howe’s way has nearly always worked for us so I’m optimistic overall. I’d like to see him incorporate Tino in the first XI and to see what that means tactically. The majority of the time I think the starting 11 will stay 4-3-3 as before, but now he has more options accross forward line (and maybe more to come) so that may get varied. I do think we are going to see Isak more than Wilson, I don't think Isak will return to being shunted out wide, but if Wilson keeps up his form who knows, the competition seems to bring out the best in both of them. Against teams that will sit deep I wonder if Howe will ever feel he can give up the security of a 3 man midfield and play isak and wilson together or something? Will be interesting. You’re talking different options - can you believe it? I feel we will have to play either isak or Wilson most games as we only have 2 strikers and a shit load of games now we’re in the crème de la monfe of competitions as well.
