Much more like it today from start to finish. Poor opposition sure, but put them right to the sword with the intensity required and rightly conserved the energy of some key players later on. Just what the doctor ordered and hopefully gives him and everyone involved a big confidence lift

Yeah. Almost the perfect performance that after some of the shit of previous weeks.

Not going behind due to shit defending and being able to stick with our usual gameplan helped massively. Could have won by a few more.

Ipswich away is now a bit of a test. Not as bad a team as their results suggest and our away performances haven’t been good for a long while.

Really good to see us start with that midfield, and just leave Gordon in his starting position today.

Need to commit to that as our starting lineup and if needed make subs from there, so we can build up some familiarity and consistency now.

Nice one Eddie

One of the key things I love about him is that he wants to win 5-0 every game. Other managers say that then prove otherwise but he dreams of it every night. Give him the right tools and he could do (or continue to do) something really special with us.

We'll need to deal with Delap, that would be a bigger test than we had today considering the shambles we put up against Brentford.

Got it right today, also got the chance to rest a few which he correctly did, game was won after 50 mins so he pulled a few and gave valuable minutes to the squid he's going to have to use this month.

Really pleased for Howe personally as we created chance after chance against a poor team that just sits in and deep. We've struggled with opponents like that recently but absolutely dominated Leicester today. They're poor admittedly but you've got to put teams like that away and we splattered them this afternoon, could have got 7 or 8 with average finishing from some. It's a shot in the arm for Howe and the squad and we can go into the next few weeks with a bit of confidence now, he can start looking up the table and ahead to reeling a few teams in and leapfrogging ourselves 6 places up the league. Did really well today and I'm delighted for him

Hopefully we'll follow it by beating Ipswich next week aswell.

Would love it, for all of us obviously, but maybe mostly for his sake, if we followed this up with wins against Ipswich and Villa. Must be extremely frustrating for him to see the team so inconsistent as we've been this season.

Still fully behind the manager and today was brilliant but does this performance really prove anything. I feel likely Leicester tried to play an open game, the problem being we are really good in that type of game. If they were a low block style team and we played like that then I’d be more positive.

I think with Leicester it's just as much because they only have one dangerous player. When we try to smother them they just don't have enough quality to break through meaningfully and threaten us.

Huge chance to build momentum from now. Yes, they were shite, but we saw proper leading performances there from our important players.

Games come thick and fast here, we can really build up quickly.

If we find consistency for the next three weeks we could easily be in the top 4 come the new year.

Love how we played today, especially the switch with Sandro in the middle of the three rather than Bruno.

One little itch i can't scratch though, it's still the same system which some teams are sussing out, hope Eddie will finally address that in game.

Not really, we've been here before this season. Our defence wasn't really tested today, it's how they hold up against better opposition which will determine our season. But it was a good performance, and a cracking win. Now we need to make sure we don't drop the ball in the next couple of games, we have a bit of ground to make up, and that means back to back wins are much needed.

Got to admit I'm not going to be getting ahead of myself any time soon re: optimism. And they were truly shite, it was like they weren't prepared for a game against us at all. But there was a lot to like nonetheless.

On a side note, been meaning to say this for a while - we're not actually shit at set pieces are we? But we are wildly inconsistent. I don't understand why we'll pull off three or four brilliant routines in one game and then just aimlessly punt balls in for the next 3 games. It's like we have an on mode and off mode, but I'm not sure how responsible any individual coach is for that.

I’ve often wondered about this and if it’s kind of similar to something like American Football.

Don’t show the ‘trick’ plays and certain parts of your playbook until late in the season or the play offs. As teams will see how you lineup and have tape of your different plays, in this case routines. You don’t want to show your hand or become predictable.

Doesn’t fully explain how we go from Arsenal in their current form for set pieces to the Pardew back post set penis routine on repeat.

The last few weeks. It feels like we have tried to mix it up a bit, with mixed results. Still had a couple that have turned into dangerous counters for the other team. Plus the aimless punts or regularly over or under hitting corners. But I think we’ve scored 4 of our last 10 league goals from set plays now?

We picked the wrong season to be 4 points behind Man City after our 16th game.

Maybe it's one of those things that you don't realise happens more often than you realise, but to be 11th but also 5 points off 4th, 4 points off 5th and 2 points off 6th at nearly the halfway point of the season feels completely mental.

Yeah I've had the same thought process re: not overusing routines. But it's fair to say we go from the sublime to the ridiculous.
