The last 4 games. The goals have returned at the very least. Is that 12 in 4 now? The performances in 3 out of 4 have been good and all. Well, 7 halves out of 8, really.

16 in 5.

Long may Howe keep proving me wrong. Never been happier to get it so wide of the mark.

Ironically, I think these last few games proved those of us that criticized Eddie right. We clearly have alot of top class players and all this talk of freshness was a bs excuse, no doubt that we underachieved badly this season before this current run.

The fans were asking for Bruno further up the pitch and Tonali starting long before Eddie made the switch himself which seems to have given us this momentum.

Will gladly admit I was over the top with my criticism though, but hey thats football. Atleast i always had the faith that he could turn it around and never went as far as calling for him to be sacked.

Not going to say that all my doubts have suddenly vanished though, but he sure has earned alot of breathing room for the moment.

You know this isn't true. I said it wasn't reasonable to sack him for not qualifying for Europe. How do you get "7th is unrealistic" from that?

You said it wasn’t reasonable to expect 7th.

If you don’t think it reasonable to expect 7th, or a manager shouldn’t be sacked for not achieving it/european football, what would you say was an unacceptable league place that you would accept?

Nah, done - this is utterly tedious.

They're not even good faith arguments, just the same recycled bollocks on a loop, or in this case, picking on and trying to twist others' comments because we won today and there's nowt to complain about.

Wonder if Man City have fans like these, looking to boot Pep out (or arguing about it endlessly) because they're 6th instead of 12 points clear at the top like their squad cost and wages should dictate. No amount of context will help, some will always just be dissatisfied in the end unless their pre-conceived notions of exactly where we should finish is achieved.

Not sure if this has been shared on here before, but thefishy.net 100 game table has us in 4th, if you exclude Ipswich (most of their last 100 were outside the division).

Think that's decent for Eddie. Hoping that we can continue this upturn and finish the season with 22-23 form.

His overall record is without a doubt pretty pretty good.

Decent

Yeah, should maybe have said excellent. 😂

Am a huge Eddie fan (although he has made some errors both last season and this) and I wanted him at NUFC even before he joined.

Can't say I'm familiar with your work, but there's something completely disingenuous about claiming to be right all along when you've been proven to be wrong.

Everyone felt there was more from the team and everyone knew we had the quality to be better but it was the vocal minority who haven't grasped yet, that football isn't a transactional sport who's results are based solely on formations or player quality alone, and that there are a huge number of factors which impact a team's performances.

Those with a longer lense saw that there wasn't anything fundamentally wrong with the team, but we hadn't quite clicked yet and were clearly lacking a bit of confidence.

Howe has barely put a foot wrong in 3 years, I can't point to one single thing that would make me question his capability. Even last year was a remarkable achievement in my eyes.

Some short memories here.

Twitter. Says it all. Crazy. I get some coaches have a natural end point but all those titles and they want him out because they're finally underperforming after like 7 years of continuous success.

I did admit I was wrong in having over the top critcism, but I do think he deserved criticism.

I can think of plenty of times he had made mistakes myself, but I dont want to focus on negativity atm so ill leave it there.
