If Tindall said he's still in the hospital on Saturday - that should be it. Very selfishly, I think that would be the difference in us qualifying for the CL or not. We've had lots of bad halves this season. But I feel like Eddie would've went tighter/more defensive Not sure he would have necessarily, we've had games like that previously when it's gone badly wrong, and not been able to change much. To tighten up defensively, we'd have needed to do it from the off, maybe a similar gameplan to the one we deployed at Arsenal in the cup semi final, but I am not sure Howe would have done that following five wins on the run. But it will impact our performances if Howe is not back soon, Tindall's interviews don't inspire confidence for more than a couple of games.
PauloGeordio
Let’s see how we respond against Ipswich. 1 game at a time. Hope Eddie is on the mend whether we see him or not anytime soon and he gets all the recovery time he needs. It’s still in our hands.
Ginola14
it must be so gutting for him to miss out on this run in which could complete one of the best seasons in the club's history I do think it will impact the team unfortunately, his attention to detail, motivation techniques and tactical nouse etc thankfully he was able to deliver a trophy first and enjoy the celebrations I always worried that his obsessive work ethic could lead to burn out so just hope he takes all the time he needs to fully recover it sounds like something that hits you like a ton of bricks and you're overcome with fatigue for weeks terrible for him and bad luck for us, at least we're still in a great position Edited 4 hours ago by Ginola14
Magpie
People making out the performance/result against Villa would have been different if Eddie had have been there are way off the mark in my opinion. Just let him fully recover and recuperate I say and come back when he's ready.
Sibierski
Don’t think it would change result, but it certainly does change the mood post game and on training ground having him there. He’s the leader. Requires likes of Trips / Burn / Bruno G etc all stepping up as a leadership group to carry out what Howe has been doing to date. Tindall will be able to do so much but that leadership aspect he won’t have. Edited 4 hours ago by Sibierski

Just let him fully recover and recuperate I say and come back when he's His recovery is the most important thing and the worst thing he could do is rush back, but, it must be at the point where it will be affecting us to some extent. Eddie has said before that his process is that as soon as one game finishes he moves on to planning for the next, his training sessions are then planned to work on stuff specific to the next match. Other than that first match back in 2023 he has had the upper hand over Emery tactically every match since If the manager not being there really doesn't make a difference then Eddie wouldn't need to work as hard as he obviously does. Not just on match day but in the week building up. It’s literally why we have managers. Agree with the last point of course.
janpawel
The longer he is away, the more of an impact his absence will have for sure. Gutted he could miss the run in, hope he gets well soon.

No one can say for sure - I think he'll be a bigger miss over the coming weeks when they've time for training. Edited 3 hours ago by duo

Yeah, for what it's worth I think we would have lost against Villa anyway, it's more the rest of the season I'm concerned about.
80
Echoing others, I think the Villa performance was entirely in keeping with what we've done in similar past games. It's ok, it was budgeted for - no part of me assumed it was going to be a win for us. I think we're more likely to feel Eddie's absence in upcoming games that had plenty of preparation time e.g. Chelsea and Arsenal. I think they would've been exhibitions of what he does as a manager. No need to feel desperate yet, as I've said a few times this season, we get 3 points for whoever we beat. We should put away Ipswich, and looking at the realities of the situation, we should knock any kind of hoodoo nonsense out of our heads against Brighton.
