Love Eddie he's probably the best manager we've had during my time supporting us, that being said I'm not sure people in the club have let him down. Isak aside.

I agree, I think he’s our most important asset and just love that he’s our manager. Thought he got pretty much everything spot on last night apart from possibly bringing on Thiaw rather than Botman.

Outplaying the champions with one less man for a large proportion of the game should not be underestimated.

Just listening to Howe's post game interview.  Honestly, Zen masters should be studying the bloke on how to regulate your emotions.  I know he is always calm and measured.  But no idea how composed he is with what he is saying.  I'd be flipping tables and telling Hope and Edwards they're a pair of cunts, Joe Kinnear style.

One thing I did takeaway was how he referenced 'players that want to play for Newcastle' a good 5-6 times.  I wonder if he does genuinely want rid of Isak and is fed up with his shit, dating back to the end of last season.

He will want rid, that I have no doubt. I'm sure he understands what a horrible look it would be to well to Liverpool though.

100%.  I agree that we shouldn't be selling to Liverpool.  Not unless they offer £150m as a bare minimum AND we get 2 strikers in.  Which isn't going to happen.

But if Howe really does feel like it's gone past the point of no return.  Then I'd still back him if he wants him gone.

No matter how many times they try to draw him in with baited questions he never takes it. The man should hold training courses on how to conduct yourself during an interview.

Yeah I absolutely hear this and understand the arguement I can't agree though.

Caving in would be a disaster for us, giving that blueprint to both our players and our rivals would be the most damaging aspect of all this.

I'm in awe of the man.  Not just as a manager and what he has done for NUFC and the fans.  But how he conducts himself.

As someone who it the polar opposite to how he is.  I need some of what he's on

I do also agree there.  But I also think if Howe is adamant Isak won't be coming back into the squad and he doesn't trust him.  Then I can't see any other option.  As much as it would be a laugh if we just stuck him in the reserves and he tanked his career.  That obviously isn't going to happen.

Making assumptions here, of course.  He could come back in and just click back into gear.

I was just thinking that, I’d love to rise above it’s instead of going into a blind rage and throwing reason out the window 🤣 still raging now whereas Eddie is now planning Leeds downfall.

I think if Eddie has that view then the option would be just to let him rot tbh. Sell next summer. Liverpool are lowballing.

Isak really is thick though, if he would have played the game he would have got his move next summer at the worst without all of this.

EH:

Those guys make me proud," the head coach said of his players following the 3-2 defeat. "Their spirit and togetherness has never been in question. They're absolutely entwined into Newcastle. They want to be here, they want to play. They're connected to the club in a way that's very deep."

What more can we ask for?

I think Eddie will take a happy medium of lumping him on the bench if he's not committed. Even at half the effort he'll still be a better option than Osula (no, last night's goal doesn't change my opinion on that yet ).

Being on the bench sends a good message while also still forcing him to do his job rather than probably being able to slack off a lot easier while he rots in the reserves.

I just don't think he clicks in to gear properly unfortunately. I think we get a similarly off the pace and sulky Isak to the one we got toward the end of last season. Except this time we won't all be giving him the benefit of the doubt of a possible injury.

I think emotionally, like the rest of us Howe probably feels betrayed and doesn't want to work with Isak again, having said that he's fully aware of Isaks ability and the impossible task of replacing him and he'll know he can get a song out of him again once this is rectified and the window is shut and he will use him for the benefit of the team. Heart wants him out, head knows he's still important to his ambitions for the club this season.

He’s had some career Howe.

Worked absolute miracles and achieved incredible things at Bournemouth and stayed there years.

Now he’s doing the same here. If he’s backed properly I cannot see us not winning more under him.

I hope he’s here the rest of his career.

And still doesn’t get as much credit as he deserves

Think it's more refirming to Isak, that if the move doesn't happen, don't expect to walk back in on the back of an apology. You are going to have bust your gut, and raise your game above last season if you want to play (as hopefully we have a new striker who will take the number 9 and be starting).

Also helps reinforce the culture with rest of squad that sees performances like we did on Monday.

If we are injury free, Howe mentality and his development as a coach and how it translates to our players, is why I'd believe we can go deep in UCL. We shown against the league champions now that we can beat them in a final, and still go toe to toe with 10 men at home, against Arsenal (who have been one of the most consistent domestic sides for past three seasons) we can do a job over 2 legs against them, which reinforces we shouldn't fear anyone in UCL. Then when it gets to those games in knockouts, we have nothing to lose which will help further against the top sides.

Wasn’t really sure what thread to post this in but early last season despite us picking up points, I hardly enjoyed watching us play or the football we were playing. The wins and a couple of the draws early season last year were poor to watch and I probably didn’t enjoy any of our games until about November looking back.

This season in spite of everything that’s gone on and us only having 1 point from 6 has been the total reversal of that thus far. I’ve enjoyed watching us play and I can’t knock Howe or the lads for anything that’s gone on because of the selfish cunt that’s on strike. If he wasn’t we’d likely have 6 points from 6, Gordon wouldn’t have been sent off the other day and things would be looking up. That Howe has managed to cultivate the culture he has amongst the players that allows us to see the togetherness and fight they have in matches is something I appreciate so much.

However, get a striker in even if it’s a stopgap and turn these performances into wins.
