Anywhere near to the extent Howe has? Absolutely no chance, and they're much more to blame.

It’s easier to judge the product on the pitch than off it tbf

See this is what is grating for me. "Uncharacteristic of us" No Eddie, it's extremely characteristic of us this season. Honesty please.

The ownership isn’t changing and I doubt many want it to, despite the obvious mistakes and the terrible summer. Discussing a managers performance is totally different.

This has been a repeating pattern all season, same mistakes, same lack of ability to see a game out. I've thought for most of the season it felt like his time here was done and was fizzling out, I really hoped he was going to turn it around, but it's pretty clear now he's not going to. I think he has to go honestly. I don't think it really hurts to wait till the end of the season though as Champions league is unatainable and getting lower level European football won't really convince anyone to stay or come here. I don't think anyone could do worse at the minute though. We're 14th. Everyone behind us is properly crap, we're the worst of the rest currently.

This is all going the way it did for him at Bournemouth like. That poster absolutely nailed it.

Yep, feels like he’s completely run out of ideas. Desperately want him to turn it around but not sure I trust the club to sign the right players to do that

Can't see Howe walking. He's loved it here, he's a fighter and will think he can turn this around.

Much is being said about the players not showing fight, but he is just so passive and lacking in fight in the only objective direct influence he can have on matches after the kick off, he looks out of ideas and defeated rather than someone fighting.

The fanbase has become too entitled. One average league session (especially considering the Isak problem/number of games) shouldn't mean Howe out.

There are problems, there have been mistakes by Howe. But after 2 finals, a cup win and 2 Champions League seasons in past few years, he deserves to figure it out and start next season.

Howe is being judged on the football we are playing or lack of it. We've spent enough to be performing better than Palace or Sunderland, but hand on heart you can't see it on the pitch.

I can only assume when he talks about uncharacteristic of us to be bad at defending and giving away late goals he's referring to last season and before, rather than this season. He can't mean this season, surely.

There are barely 7–8 managers in 30+ years of Premier League history who’ve lasted 5+ years at one club.

Howe is already pushing into territory most managers don’t reach. Let’s not forget that. Expecting it to just keep going indefinitely isn’t reality.

And there’s a reason for that: ideas fade, messages stop landing, and performances plateau. That’s just the natural cycle in modern football. And that is where we are now.

And regardless of how successful he might be elsewhere in the future, that wouldn’t change the fact that moving on now feels like the right decision for Newcastle.

Aye. I would hate things to turn sour to the point his accomplishments here are tarnished in the eyes of many.

PSR might stop us competing with Barcelona or Liverpool, but it doesn’t cause us to be turned over home and away to the mackems, by Palace, Everton, Bournemouth, West Ham, Brighton…

It also doesn’t cause us to pre-programme our substitutions before a game, or stop us from playing formations more suited to the personnel.

There are lots of mitigations for Howe, but when you focus on the aspect HE is in complete control of, he’s done a very poor job this season.

We're 14th, we should be 8th in a completely average season just looking at wage spend.

Why would they get the same scrutiny. They’ve spent well over £500m since coming in and backed Howe in the summer massively, spending the most in Newcastle’s history.

Howe has failed on the pitch.

It ain’t the same.

It doesn't need to be a change of ownership, pointing the finger them at all for their part in this would be a start. They've got away scot free despite being most to blame imo.

The manager's performance can be scrutinised to death, of course it can, but I find it crazy how much they're just bypassed and Howe bears the full brunt.

Let’s straight away discount Iraola then yeah? By your logic that means every other manager above us currently is better. On to Maresca, bloke spent more than Howe and hasn’t won a major trophy. On to Poch, won the league with PSG with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe. Howe would also walk the French league. Tbf not sure what Xavi has done. Find it weird you are so desperate to put Howes fantastic achievements down whilst ranking the others above him. Can’t be  bothered to keep talking about it though as you clearly have your mind made up.

They all play possession football that's why. We need to move away from our end to end type of play.
