The West Ham game we just didn't take our chances. One of those those games. I was disappointed and a little worried with Palace and Brentford away performances but we've responded incredibly strongly since then.

That whole period felt like a lot of "what ifs" with the amount of chances we just weren't putting away.

To a degree we're now seeing the what if outcome.

He was always going to turn it around as that's been the way of it, it's when the next international break kicks in or when we have a run of games likes the ones we do coming up in the PL.

4 winnable games, more so than what we've just done. That's when we have tended to slip up.

If we can keep that consistency through all that then maybe we have turned a corner.

I agree, we performed relatively well v Brighton, Everton and Chelsea, but squandered too many opportunities.

The performances v West Ham, Palace and Brentford were alarming though. The turn around since then has been nothing short of remarkable. Full credit to Howe and the coaching staff.

You could tell from last nights game that there is a need to improve the squad - looking at how Arsenal pressed - it was a backs to the wall situ for 20 mins - we need to be able to do the same - it's not like the players we have are bad, no, they are good, it's just the likes of Arsenal, City, Chelsea have the £££ ability to buy in lot's of players and get good in depth squads, in effect having a 2nd 11 - which, at present, is something we don't have.

Exactly this.  We need more class players  even to sit on the bench.  Some on here are suggesting we sell Barnes because he's too expensive to sit on the bench.  Total nonsense from them.  We need MORE of the likes of his standard.

5-5-0 late on in the second half. That time studying Simeone and our streak of being able to play Satanic football coming back to the fore. Get the fuck in.

It's a wonderful riposte to the current vogue of managers playing certain ways and refusing to make any change even mid game as if there's valour in dropping points, we score a lot of goals, good to the eye but not going to make anything easy for the other team.

He has made me look a fool for pondering if he'd taken us as far as he could, appoint him for life

Last night could be monumental result for the club, especially off the back of the MU and Spurs also on the road

even if we don't win the competition this time, I think the experience of playing in these type of big games will be crucial going forward

a final against MU, all the CL games last season, a 2 leg semi final against Arsenal and potentially another final against Liverpool - should mean this team is more mentally equipped to deal with the next final or CL campaign etc.

I think we struggled with the occasion in the 2023 final and perhaps a bit in the CL too

as I said, even if we go on to lose the final, it's all part of the journey and growing experience

there will no doubt be plenty of bumps along the road but sure Klopp lost quite a few finals before success finally came to him at Liverpool, Ancelotti similar in Italy and am sure there are plenty of other examples

so glad the club have stuck by Howe and I'm sure success will come if they continue to do so, with a bit of luck I think it's just a matter of time

What a weapon. No surprise there! Nice professional smack down from Eddie.

Being called boring by a baldy, snide bombastic cunt like Edwards would get a rise out of a few managers, Eddie hoofs the tit over the boundary with a knowing smile & parks the twat firmly in his  self absorbed world without breaking stride.

What a lad

Edwards always tries to get a laugh from Howe or the other journos in these pressers, every fucking week. he's such a detestable little tryhard of a bloke.

This is it for me.  I'm not sure it's 'absolutely disgusting'.  I think some of the carry on from Louise Taylor and I think one other journo with the Tonali questions would a bit closer to that.  But he really is always trying to make some funny comment and be a bit edgy.

He gets on one of the 5 Live podcasts now and then.  Annoyingly, he isn't that bad at speaking and getting his point across.  But he is just a dislikeable character and is always acting the clown on there and all.

Luke Edwards: Eddie, people say you're boring

Eddie Howe: Your lass doesn't say that when she's with me and Mad Dog (followed by a knowing nod and wink)

Cue video of the bald nonce dancing around his living room like Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs with a glass of rose in his hand.

Must be a nightmare for you as you’re both bald and boring.
