In the last few months alone:

Arsenal 0-2 Newcastle

Tottenham 1-2 Newcastle

Man United 0-2 Newcastle

Nottingham Forest 1-3 Newcastle

Everyone’s batting aside Man Utd and Spurs. They’re bottom half teams.

Takes bravery in the press to execute against City. We’re losing one on ones and not showing any intensity. Not sure that’s Howe’s Fault. We look a team that’s distracted/ phoning it in.

I think we tried at the beginning. Schär was following quite high, but leaving Burn 1v1 against Marmoush or Haaland? No way. That is suicide.

City overloaded the midfield to kill our press. Lewis went to midfield to there was always an out ball and they were happy to play 3v3 against our front three. We were playing 5v3 or 4v3 against theirs...

Apart from Arsenal away I can’t remember any big away game we’ve played well in (PSG was a gutsy effort but they had a million chances before the penalty). And it’s worrying how we don’t seem to have learnt anything from them.

We have been decent away when we score first. When he go behind, seems like it's over.

Least it gives him an excuse to change things. Hate it when a player is doing shite but the results are OK and he sticks with them.

Get pope back in please. Dubs is done.

Prefer Dubravka as can kick a ball. Goals today were down to our shit defending and Trippier being fucking dreadful for first 2

Man City and Liverpool are much, much better teams than us. Were bound to lose most of the time to them.  Aside from that though the performance was legit terrible on our part.

There's probably a few other teams we should be losing to regularly (Arsenal) but we dont

Not sure what point you’re making here or who it is aimed at. I’m not saying I think we bottle big games. More that if anything, Stifler’s point is wide of the mark as it is more like the other way round. We perform when it matters in a lot of crunch games and the perhaps there is the dreaded ‘after the Lord Mayor’s show performance. Or of course, just general variance.

I do think this season has been very odd all round. Mad runs of good form, some games where we were unlucky to lose, some games where we deserved fuck all and won. We still feel a bit inconsistent somehow and not sure which team is turning up week to week.

I’m sure most fans say the same about their team and the way the league is from 3rd to 9th-10th. A lot of teams are struggling for form, it would seem.

Agreed.

Was more in reference to @Stifler comments tbh.

I don't like saying folks opinions are simply rubbish tbh, but I just feel it is in this instance (sorry @Stiflerbud).

On the subject of consistency; the whole league excluding maybe half a dozen sides is inconsistent and actually we're one of the more consistent ones ironically. 12 wins in the last 15 is it?

Actually think it will a result that focuses a few minds and gets a response next week.

I thought after Bournemouth. 2 timid defeats in the 3 that followed, 0 clean sheets.

We have a very high points from losing positions tally.

Yea, against smaller teams we have managed to get back.

This season,  Forest, Spurs and ManU were good away performances. Against Wolves we were lucky and don't think other performances have been good at all..

Last year Villa was the only top team we won away. Howe has not sorted that out at all.
