...and it would be nice, in the last game at St. James, to give him a well-deserved "thank you" for what he's done.

Something similar to what was done for Pioli, who in his last year made many mistakes as a coach, but who will always have our respect and gratitude.

Is this a club trying right now? I wouldn’t say it is. The players certainly aren’t trying, imo. The manager isn’t trying judging by the lack of effort into fixing our problems.

I just want to say while I know you didn't mean it like that, he is absolutely trying to fix the problems, on multiple occasions he has done so but none of it has panned out. I think at this stage he has run out of ideas in how the currently solve the issues, doesn't mean he never will but I think it's fair to say that whatever issues we have aren't going to be solved before the season ends.

Rightly or wrongly, even if did have good ideas on how to fix it the players also have to believe in those solutions or it won't work and quite evidently they do not based on performances on the pitch.

Everyone is still trying I think we have just gotten a bit lost amongst all the power struggles over the last 18 months that has led to people pulling in different directions

I think this is one of the few occasions in my lifetime where we can’t really predict what is going to happen next which is kind of scary.

Embarrassing this thread , I can't wait for Eddie to go to a team who can freely spend and teach you all a lesson. fucked it with Keegan and Sir Bobby but we only  want a team that try's is  utter bollocks

It was just a banner like - I’m sure the people being most vocal didn’t create the thing. A lot of people are angry with results and performances, you’re angry with their opinions. Great times

How can he go to a team that "can freely spend" and teach us all a lesson? What lesson, when we can't freely spend?

And YOU can't wait for him to go? Because you're reading criticism...YOU want him to go asap? Seems dramatic. Almost...emotional. Like you're supporting the sport of football, or something.

Think someone has mentioned this before, but you would have expected the club to have already done a lot of groundwork on incoming transfers for the summer. And we are led to believe Eddie Howe has been involved in this.

If we have been working on the basis that we intend to go after players who will fit in with the current style of play then, you would have thought,  it is going to be extremely difficult to pivot to a different set of targets.

i guess it depends on what style of play Ross Wilson has been planning for.

You find a manager whose style of play suits your squad much like Bournemouth have done. What is worse is giving Eddie the budget to rebuild and it doesn't work

I don’t remember signing up to it as a statement - I’ve never thought it was a good idea for anyone to make statements on behalf of the fanbase, and people are then held to it like it’s a fucking contract.  One of the many things Wor Flags has got right is avoiding statements of this type.

Not sure it's as controversial a statement as your making out. I don't understand why all fans wouldn't generally agree with it, unless you harness some Liverpool-esque sense of entitlement.

We all want a team that wins, but demand? I don't think so.

Under no circumstances should Eddie retain his control over transfer. It would be PIFs fault if they let this continue

Thats why the media are saying the management have to make the decision now, keep Eddie no matter what or tell him we will be parting ways soon and find the replacement asap. Which I agree.

Sure, I’m not angry about it - it’s just a bit rum being held to a standard like you’re the one who said it

No one wants to think Howe is shit though. Results are always what defines a manager at the end of the day. If you can't get them, then some good football would be a mitigating factor. When you've got neither, you're not left with much. When it goes on over a whole season then questions are going to be asked, it would happen anywhere doesn't matter what field of work.

No, but people do want to justify their feelings seemingly by which ever means possible.

The rest - I haven't disputed.

I'm pretty sure we already have a new recruitment process in place, that's the point of WiIson.

Come on, you don't really think he's not trying.

We honestly need to give this season a name, so we can reference how shit it was adequately.

How about Post Town Moor? PTM, makes it sound like a disease or menstrual cycle related (kinda works). It takes into account the early genesis of our troubles at the end of last season/in the summer. And stops us mentioning the C word (I mean cup…) as it has evidently hexed us.

He supports Eddie Howe over Newcastle United. That's fair enough but the club is always above any individual in my eyes and that even extends to Kevin Keegan who is basically God to me.

I think they’d definitely have asked (though I also think some players wouldn’t give a shite).  But I also doubt he was sat there going ‘the bloke from Bournemouth?  I’m in!’

"Manager... yeah, its Eddie Howe? Yeah, he's been out of the game for about 2 years, and his last job...he took Bournemouth down in 2020"

That actually worries me more. It would mean that we are doubling down on Howe's football methods, and that Wilson is looking for players for a style that has run it's course.

I think it’s reasonable at this stage to question Eddie’s flexibility and willingness to try new things, but I wouldn’t ever conflate that with a lack of effort on his part. He will be desperate to turn things around.

I agree. I worded that horrendously, one thing even the biggest critics can never do is question his work ethic.
