Edwards was the only one briefing from the “sell” side of the deal. Unfortunately people aren’t going to forgive him for being the unofficial mouthpiece of Charnley, Bishop and Bruce. Can’t imagine his ties to the club are strong with the current set owners in place - compared with Hope, Caulkin, Waugh and Douglas. Also get the feeling that he’s watched protégés like Douglas and Waugh move past him and he’s stuck on a beat he’s exhausted when he should have moved on.
