Transfer rumours

Rondon is a good player for our valuations and budget for players under Ashley.  Id love us to go out and get a reliable goal scorer but i just cant see it happening.  At best we might scrape a loan for someone like Sturridge but no real investment will be made long term.

Ashley just enjoys flipping players for profit and cycles the squad every summer.

The money is there to spend £30mill+ on a striker that is likely to get your 12-15 goals at least BUT we know spending that kind of money is out of the question.

Rondon's movement and strength is good, we can benefit from that, the concern as it was last season is scoring enough goals.

Aye. Wellbeck would tick our boxes very well, but we just won’t stretch that far. Was a missed opportunity when he went to Arsenal, and now we’ll miss out again.

He'd do what now?

Rondon is much, much better than Mitrovic. Mitrovic is too slow for the Premiership.

That's odd considering he's never scored more than Mitro in a PL season. How is that "much much better?"

Much better for Rafa's system would probably be a better way to put it, with Mitro you need to play 4-4-2 and play a high pressing game to play to his strengths, will be interesting to see how much success Fulham have with that this season.

Approximate net spend so far this summer of the last two seasons promoted clubs;

Wolves = £39m

Huddersfield = £33m

Brighton = £30m

Cardiff = £28m

Fulham = £27m

NUFC = £-6m

Once the Mitro deal goes through;

Brighton = £54m

Fulham = £52m

Huddersfield = £35m

Wolves = £30m

Cardiff = £28m

NUFC = MINUS £24m

Fulham played 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 all last season, reckon they’ll go 4-4-2 in the Premier?

Minus £28m, innit? War chest territory.

I was using transfermarkt bud - looks like they’ve missed a few off other teams!

However you stack the numbers, they definitely play a lot higher up the pitch than we do, so that will suit Mitro better.

Two under the radar real 'rock star' (Rondon, highlights... FFS) signings on deadline day. One of whom brought back from Portugal, taking outlay to £60m actually spent. Ahhh. To live is to dream.

No Schär by the looks of it, maybe not the best source.

Would like to see us spend the money from the sale of Mitro on Atlanta Uniteds striker Josef Martinez. Has scored 24 goals in 23 games so far this season. 43 goals in 44 games in two seasons.

I know it's the MLS but he clearly knows where the goal is.

Maybe a bid for him and Miguel Almiron from the same club that we've been linked with before. Almiron has been the best player in MLS for the last two seasons.

Would solve both striker and no.10 for us. Don't know how much they would cost but think £10-12M was mentioned for Almiron, so maybe £25M for both?

I think Osorio of Toronto FC would be a decent squad player for us, he can pass a bit like Shelvey and likes to get forward. He won’t be good enough to start, but certainly a good squad player for CM.

So we thinking it'll be Rondon or no one coming in then? Would love to see Rafa pull an unexpected deal out of the hat for a striker.

I’m still holding out for Josh King :lol:

If Abraham is actually available for <£20m I'd be amazed if we weren't all over that myself.
