El Prontonise
I can't see him starting against Spurs, it's almost a year out. Bromley yes. Edited December 30, 2024 by El Prontonise

Can't see Howe risking him by hurrying him up. But I wonder can we hurry up krafth who had minor injury ?at least compare to ACL
Mazzy
If it was Burn that has been suspended then I could see Botman maybe playing some small part against Spurs, a few token minutes at the end if the situation allows for it. But I really don't see him coming in to start the game or for any significant time on the wrong side of defence after being out for so long.

Had he survived another 10 mins, the 5 card rule would have not been applicable.

Centre halves traditionally never had too much of an issue playing on the ‘other side’ of the defence. Most ‘LCB’s are right footed. Don’t see why a left footer would have an issue playing RCB. The main men will have played Villa, Man Utd, Spurs and Arsenal in a 13 day run and then have Wolves and Bournemouth 3 and 6 days after Bromley. That one week breathing space in the middle is key. Would go: Vlach Krafth Schar (off a two game ban) Kelly (Botman gets 30 mins) Targett Miley Longstaff Willock Barnes Osula Almiron

Perhaps only because left footers are a rarer commodity. Either way I'd rather see Kelly at RCB for Spurs. That's alot of pressure on Sven otherwise. Ronaldo
Surely Botman is ready. Kelly is at decent a best player with the potential to be solidly mediocre but he’ll be all over the shop against Spurs. Turnbull2000
Would be shocked, shocked I tell you if Botman gets any more than 10 minutes against Spurs, and only then if we're defending a comfortable lead. You don't just drop into a team after an injury like that, surely. Will be eased in with sub appearances over the next month or so.
Alberto2005
Aye he shouldn't be anywhere near this game, we need him for the remainder of the season. Even if we lose we're still in a strong position.
M1tche
I think we'll see him start either this or the Arsenal game, and Kelly with start both the other game and Bromley. Both side are in a similar place, as we'll both be missing at least 3 parts of what would be a our 1st choice back 5s
Thumbheed
I'm looking forward to remembering what a top class player this guy is too. Been out best part of a year and we’re gonna chuck him in from the off away from home against a big club?! Similar comments for Arsenal. I think he starts against Bromley and then builds from there. He's already been building up, he's back in full training, and has been for a whole, he's played under 23s, and has also has been playing 11 vs 11s against quite likely a strong team in training matches. He was meant to be back on the bench for the last few games, but missed out due to illness. If Bunce deems him good to go, and Eddie deems him the best option he'll start, my bet is the Arsenal game, as that's our best chance of a trophy. Bromley might be the easiest game, but he's more likely to take a random hit in that than any of the others.
relámpago blanco Posted Wednesday at 00:16 Share Posted Wednesday at 00:16 I'd start him injury won't be an issue now if he can start for u23s. My main worry is Burn being an option at leftback again.
