Botman played away to Brighton in his debut season In the 0-0

Mind you he is probably refering to international games with camavinga in his list.

Heard a Longstaff interview with Linekar and Shearer, he states that Isak and Botman are our stand out elite players, but he also proclaims that Botman is rapid?

Pre injury he had alot of qualities but being fast certainly wasn't one of them.

Tbf I don't think he is as slow as people make out, like Burn or even Schar etc, just he has no acceleration like most really big footballers so in short distances he ain't gonna look quick. Haaland, Van De Ven are pretty rare in what they have imo

Hope he doesn't lose anymore after the ACL though

We just need to keep up in the league until Christmas any which way.  Botman back and transfer window and we could really kick on. Potentially this will be at the same time the teams in Europe start seeing a few injuries building in

He's a Bowser/Donkey Kong, rather than a Princess Peach/Yoshi.

As was hinted in an earlier post, will he be as effective after his ACL injury as he was before. If not, we have serious problems. We're struggling to sign ONE quality central defender. To find and sign TWO would be nigh on impossible with our non playing staff and all the alleged  disputes behind the scenes.

Botman recorded one of the fastest running speed in EPL history last season before injury

Sometimes people really got misled by tall players body build.

I think he’s a bit like Lascelles. Not quick over short distances and can get done for agility and a turn of pace. But once they open up, they are pretty fast.

It is understandable, TBF. They are both absolute units so will at times turn like a cruiseliner.

On the subject of Dutch centre backs and ACL injuries. It took Van Dijk a while to get back to form. But he has been back to his imperious best the last season or two, I think. He has been great to start this season and all.

Krafu came back good after his ACL. Took a bit of time but he’s as good as he was for mobility and speed.

Back in training yesterday I see. Hopefully it's not too long before we see him on the pitch.

Howe said yesterday that Christmas may be a bit too soon, but he'll hopefully be back in a match day squad in January.

Quite hard to avoid the "like a new signing" tag but even if we can get 3 good months of Botman it could be crucial to our season but it goes without saying that I'd rather have him fully fixed than rushed back.

Totally agree with all this. Can't wait to have him back but if that's january then so be it. No point rushing him back for him to have a setback and then we're back to square 1.

Massive player for us.
