Another who I imagine absolutely despises Isak.

He's absolutely the best defender I've seen play for Newcastle overall. Obviously Woodgate was absurdly good, but his injury record was fucking abysmal, as everyone knows. Schar's durability is something else.

Fucker will probably score against Barcelona

I read somewhere that he was good mates with Isak, and along with Gordon, he's the only Newcastle player to wish him well.

Regardless, I really rate Botman and despite being a bit unlucky with injuries I hope he extends his contract. Immaculate defender when he's fit.

Schar great defender but people are forgetting his massive form dips and the times he gets the run around in games to. Coloccini was very similar aswell, Woodgate was sublime in every game he played.

Woodgate away at Wolves (just backed from injury.....but when wasn't he) was one of the worst performances Ive seen from an NUFC   defender.

I'd still name him in my squad at least for best Ive seen in my lifetime. He just wasn't sublime in every game.

He was talking about Schar, not Botman

Fair enough not really had time to read through the full thread, didn't realise the conversation had switched to Schar. Carry on then.

Botman could really not do much more in the time when he actually played and was fit. He was absolutely class. That's his real level. Whether he can recover or not still remains to be seen, but to think that he isn't class just because he has been out for a long time is short term memory. I had a discussion in the summer about whether Barnes was a great signing, when many was suddenly raving about him after a run of form. I said wait and see what the opinion will be like if he starts this season on a low.. The Barnes thread has already changed in tone. One day he's a mediocre player and a waste of money, and the next day he is absolutely class and a bargain. Soon after he is considered to be not good enough once again..

So wait a minute, you’re saying that football fans are…fickle? Severe victims of recency bias? Reactionary and often illogical?

Yes, it's a discovery that I just made. A groundbreaking one.

Just seen a short insta video with Murphy and they asked who in the squad he would pick to do the GNR.

He said Botman and when asked why he said because he was an excellent runner and did the best in this summer’s yo-yo (bleep) test.

Not bad for an alleged cripple.

Anybody else clock this guy and Willock during the lap at the end? No clapping of the fans, barely approached the Gallowgate and were first off the pitch. Poor.

I might be wrong but I’ve got a feeling Isak’s close pals (Botman, Osula, Willock) are going to be rather pissy and potentially quite awkward this season.

Probably having a little bitch about the club behind closed doors. The writing feels partly on the wall with these two given the whispers we’ve heard. Botman mainly wants game time and I think he’ll be unhappy any time without it. Who the fuck knows with Willock, think he just doesn’t like football and working to be a better player
