TheEntertainer
I think Botman had a good game yesterday, won most of his challenges, looked comfortable on the ball, there's nothing he could do with the 1st one, Trippier gave the winger so much time he could perfectly pick his cross, Tripper at fault again for the second and a bit of an iffy pen decision and the third he was marking his man and Trippier was miles out of position again, maybe Thiaw should have got to him quicker but the shot went straight through Pope. Nothing he could really have done for any of the goals and he looked good other than that.

Agreed, thought he did well against Thiago, certainly far more so than we as a team did back in the away game.
TheBrownBottle
A fit and functioning Botman is definitely the best CB we have

Ben
Solid today, I still think hes more confident and more of a shithouse with Schar or Big Joe in the team
woody
Looks like he may have lost a yard of pace, but that may be when faced with a much faster opponent. He does do a great job of cutting off space through positioning, which I don’t think we see from Burn

But it was the right decision not to let him travel today.‘

TheBrownBottle
He might be a Rolls Royce defender, but he’s got a Lada’s chassis … Edited February 18 by TheBrownBottle
alexf
Must be so hard for him to give good performances when his body is failing him. Even when he does start to string games together and begin to gain some sharpness and form back, he then breaks down again. This might be a small short term injury but it's enough to have kept him out the last few squads and that disrupts his rhythm. Quite the opposite to Sven.

Quite the opposite to Sven. Maybe a Volvo Sport (1956-57) is a dated, undoubtedly niche, but apt analogy. Looks like a solid Volvo, is also a beautiful convertible sports car, but it actually has a fibreglass body. “Known for body stiffness, leaks, and generally poor build quality, leading to production termination.” Terminator to early termination 🤷♂️ Edited February 18 by Coffee_Johnny
