Obviously don't think we should never sign anyone from the German league you wolly just pointing out when looking at stats etc the standard of that league is  poor. Serie A is a much higher standard so that doesn't apply.

From a wolly to another. Just a weird opinion. By the way a german club just won the EL. Guess you will trah away Nkunku alson then because its just a piss poor league.

It's obviously worth considering the standard of the league people are playing in, it's a massive step up to the Premierleague. Aye they did Rangers give them a game in the final, half of their team wouldn't be good enough to get out the championship ?

It was not just Rangers. Bigger clubs were beaten (like a PL team and Barca) on their way. I see your point but Diabys numbers are impressive even if its "just" the  Bundes.

We should stop getting players from Portugal, Netherland, France, Serie A also then. But hey City and Liverpool just bought players from piss poor leagues and they look world class.

It’s not that a player is guaranteed from the other leagues, of course there’s been failures and successes from all leagues. However, Bundesliga clubs are notorious for selling at top dollar prices therefore the risk increases significantly of making a very expensive mistake.

We got out of jail with Joelinton at one stage we’d have been lucky to get 10 million back on him. The 2 deals Frankfurt did for Haller and Jovic look like daylight robbery, yet both those strikers we’re prolific in Germany.

The other leagues such as France, Portugal and Holland have seen clubs get far greater value for money in last few years. Though not perhaps the premium we currently have for PL based players, the Bundesliga clubs certainly don’t sell on the cheap.

Think your getting on your high horse over nowt tbh mate ? I'm not saying don't sign anyone from Germany or even Scotland. But the German league aside from Bayern is poor so when looking at goal scoring or assists stats things will be skewed.

I just found it strange to point out Bundes as a very poor league when France, Netherland and Portugal all are much worse.

In terms of sales I'm struggling to see us raising much cash. Mainly due to age and contract of the players.

Darlow - £4 million

Woodman - £4 million

Hayden - £8 million

Clark - free/subsided loan

Fernandez - free/nominal

Gayle - free/nominal

Ritchie - free/nominal

Hendrick - free/subsidised loan

Manquillo or Lewis - £5m- ish

Then you could possibly get £5-10 million for either Almiron or Murphy with a winger coming in. Maybe you could see Shelvey go for similar if we sign another CM - or Lascelles if we sign 2 CBs.

But maximum you're looking at is £20-30 million if we're looking to minimise the amount of squad turnover and sign 5-6 players.

We're in a really shit position due to lack of investment previously. It's like starting from zero.

Agreed but at least we see starting from zero in the Premier League and not the Championship.

He's got a reet high opinion of himself for a benchwarmer who's had half a decent season in his professional career.

Hope we don't touch the twat.

Along comes Everton....

Everton: “So you’re after £180k per week huh, you drive a hard bargain”

Lingard’s agent: “We’re just trying to get what he deserves. We’re looking for a three year contract”

Everton: “Fine, you win this round, £200k per week and a five year contract and that’s our final offer.”
