Guest
People are being harsh as hell. He's leading the line well and causing the ball the stick in the oppositions half when it matters. Defenders are constantly in a battle and engaged with him, and he's often drawing two defenders in on ariel duels. The alternative is Dwight Gayle, who would not be achieving a quarter of what Wood has managed so far.

If we want the best from Bruno that needs to happen (Looking at you Willock and Joelinton).
Guest
Aye, he wins the ball and there's rarely anyone there to help or take advantage of any knock-ons.
Guest
I wish he would hold onto the ball more times, he nearly always looks to flick it on and for whatever reason ASM never seems to anticipate it

Yes I agree and he certainly has the presence and ability to occupy a couple of defenders giving more space for others.

Albeit brief and too late, I saw that was the case in the final 10 minutes against Everton, his flick-ons and hold/link up play was starting to work with ASM and Fraser alongside him, two players who are not exactly easy to play in/fit alongside. He needs a goal or two though and his overall play on the ball has been very poor it has to be said, but if he’s to be our donkey up front that allows ASM and Fraser who whoever to prosper and we can get further up the pitch that keeps us up, it will all be worth it! Could the brief and too late bit be rather he'd worn them down ? Shearer used to do that, in partucular against Sol Campbell a few times.

It could be, Shearer was great at that and if you’re marking a big lump all day and constantly fighting for the ball in the air or having to get close to your man tight and physical, it does take its toll! It’s an underrated aspect of a CF’s play and often unnoticed because it’s mostly off the ball.
toon25
Every inch just a big lump up front on this showing so far.
David Edgar
He is doing everything but be a goal threat. Like a lesser Joselu

AyeDubbleYoo
As usual he’s won nearly every duel but not really done that well outside of that. Real shame he didn’t slide Fraser in for that chance.
Yorkie
Christ somebody just blast one off him into the goal, please.
PauloGeordio
I think once he gets the 1st……..
Smal
His pressing has been a bit part of why we’ve been effective. I don’t rate him at all but strange to be critical of him today other than that err…. shot.
LRD
Understand his eagerness to get a goal but man, an assist off that chance would be great too, Woodie.
midds
Desperately needs a goal and it's affecting his decision making. His general pressing is good and he's linking things up and winning headers which is the main reason he was signed. Just needs a goal to settle him down, should 100% have slid Fraser in with a simple pass
Holloway
he`s visibly flapping, needs to calm down a bit
Dr Jinx
He can hit them and I suspect when the goal does come it will settle him down a lot. For as much stick he’ll get for that mad shot, you have to give him credit for getting in the way of that McGinn shot, not sure Dubravka would have had that covered. Kid Icarus
Definitely needs to walk before he runs. Play that ball into Fraser and it's a notch in confidence, miss badly without hitting the target and it's probably a notch down in confidence. mouldy_uk
Worrying how poor he looks in front of goal. He’s lucky that we are on such a good run otherwise I can imagine the pressure would be piled on.
Chrisjraby
Doing everything but score at the moment, and has contributed to the team winning points. Having him in the team gives us structure and frees up other players. Goals would be nice, but we're winning. Who would have thought that a few weeks ago?
