What hatred? Vast majority of comments are "good lad but pretty shit, did a job but now is surplus to requirements". I don't see that as hatred. He's a very limited player (or has performed as such for us), and it's best for all concerned if he moves on.

Good luck to him.

After his miss against Sheff Weds he was crucified. Pretty easy to find the comments.

You can't be reading in to post/mid-match comments as real life my friend. I wish death upon a minimum of 10 people every match. Standard match banter etiquette.

And even if there have been a few harsh comments regarding this transfer, the general sentiment has most certainly not been hatred.

He's still far better. Brilliant for Espanyol this season.

Oh aye undoubtedly since he left. But you could say the same about somebody like Luuk de Jong. I was meaning purely in terms of NUFC performances Joselu was better than Wood. Probably comfortably tbh - considering the side he was in.

I'm assuming we must be bringing in a striker if we are letting Wood go. I checked the transfer thread and there seems to be a lot of angry rumblings about dancing Lingard. Any chance it's him?

If people cant keep some perspective during a game then….

I wonder if the plan might be to roll the dice on two strikers (plus Joelinton if desperate) and put the saved wages towards any midfield reinforcements (until the end of the season)

If this is happening, I'm really surprised it's come now. I was expecting him to be here at least until this summer if not until the end of his contract. Credit to the club for working out a deal rather than letting things fester.

Best of luck to him. I'm one of the ones who thinks he played an important role for us last season. I dread to think what the alternatives were given all the circumstances. But we were never going to get more than 6 months of real benefit out of him and just had to sink the money in to make things happen. Since then he's been consistently declining for us despite not being that old. Still, that was a massive 6 months for the club's overall future.

The hatred on here is weird. He seems a decent guy, I’d have taken the chance he did and he’s popped a few in. In our position, not sure what more you could ask from a 3rd choice forward.

Good luck to him

I don’t hate him. I hated him playing for us. Different things

Good luck to him and I echo the thoughts of the chaps who thanked him for last season!

We were DESPERATE for a centre-forward and he provided us with a focal point and we weakened a then relegation rival who ended up going down!

A vital equaliser at Southampton and the winner vs Wolves!

He played a part in the crucial first chapter of our glorious new era!

If we weakened Burnley, have Forest now weakened us?
