In the 2023/24 season just gone, we could add another massive credit. Bruno Guimaraes was also the legs of the Newcastle United team. Indeed, across the entire Premier League, Bruno ran further than any other player, in any top tier team. An incredible 263 miles (423 km), which doesn’t include Champions League and domestic cups. Bruno Guimaraes started 37 Premier League matches, missing only one after picking up five bookings and a one match suspension. He also started all six Champions League games, started all four FA Cup matches, whilst in the League Cup the Brazilian started one and came off the bench the other two, in the three games. So in total, Bruno Guimaraes playing in 50 of Newcastle’s 51 matches last season, starting 48 of them, off the bench in two more.
