I mentioned this also about Tonali in his thread, but he looks quicker when he's busting a gut to get into the box when we're on the attack. I remember the Leicester goal, when he covered from half way inside our half to get onto Willock's cross. Couple of other times he has done this also I'm certain. He looks likes he's walking in the Louisiana swamps when he's running towards our goal mind.
JigsawGoesToPieces Posted Saturday at 20:34 Share Posted Saturday at 20:34 If it came to it for FFP to allow us to reinvest, Bruno is the purple id be most open to selling tbh. Bruno looks a shadow of the player he was and captaincy doesnt suit/hasnt helped him. I dont think we would get anywhere near 80m for him If we sold him either, probs closer to 60-65. Currently averaging a goal every 7 games and an assist every 6 fwiw.

Currently averaging a goal every 7 games and an assist every 6 fwiw. I massively disagree. To start with, Bruno is the hardest working player in the league. No one runs more, no one plays more minutes. That's going to be hard to replace on its own. 'The best ability is availability' as they say. Secondly he's literally the only player with genuine creativity in the team. He is a brilliantly inventive passer which you'll be losing. Finally, he's the captain and extremely popular amongst the squad and fans. Other than Isak he's the last player I'd sell
lovejoy Posted Saturday at 22:46 Share Posted Saturday at 22:46 Not a chance I’d sell Bruno. He’s everything I want from a Newcastle United player. He’s been off the boil the last few weeks but there’s some really short memories in our fanbase like.

huss9 Posted Saturday at 23:02 Share Posted Saturday at 23:02 in an ideal world we rest him until west ham. that may not be possible.
AyeDubbleYoo Posted Saturday at 23:31 Share Posted Saturday at 23:31 (edited) Being outplayed by Liverpool doesn't mean we should rest anyone. Bruno simply has to play every game he's fit for, as do nearly all our good players. Edited Saturday at 23:31 by AyeDubbleYoo

et tu brute Posted Sunday at 05:03 Share Posted Sunday at 05:03 Bruno has been poor, but so have all the team apart from Isak and Hall (mostly). He needs to be playing in the number 8 position when Joelington comes back in. Only a few weeks ago, some were saying we had the best midfield in the country. Well they all have the rest of the season to bring home the bacon. Big three month coming up and a few questions will be answered.
black_n_white Posted Sunday at 08:07 Share Posted Sunday at 08:07 I personally don’t think it’s fickle to suggest Bruno is the one to cash in on this summer. We need to get better at selling and his stock won’t get any higher than it is currently due to his age. Unfortunately it’s the world we live in now regarding finances in football. Dr Venkman Posted Sunday at 08:10 Share Posted Sunday at 08:10 You don’t sell players like Bruno unless it’s unavoidable. There are plenty of well documented reasons why, all I’d add is he doesn’t rely on pace so will be a top-tier player well into his 30s.
christ Posted Sunday at 09:14 Share Posted Sunday at 09:14 People talking about selling a player we hadn’t won a game without until very recently. Righto. Some cunts on here would want rid of their gran the first time she burns the roasties.

And it's only 300 miles away so we'll get there twice a year. Old people man, never had it so good.

TRon Posted Sunday at 12:54 Share Posted Sunday at 12:54 I think being rested will be great for his game. Not only to keep him fresh, but also a reminder that you are only as good as your last game.

Kept getting the ball forward, link play was tidy, looked like he really wanted to get involved, and even if you don't agree with that his delivery for Schär's disallowed goal was more than 'nowt'. Newcastle Fan Posted Sunday at 17:11 Share Posted Sunday at 17:11 Not a fan of his performance today, he slowed things down on the ball and left gaps in midfield without it.
J7 Posted Sunday at 17:12 Share Posted Sunday at 17:12 Aye he was our best player after coming on. Not sure he can be blamed for us not make more of the decent balls he was playing into the area.
Pilko Posted Sunday at 17:12 Share Posted Sunday at 17:12 The lack of control over our midfield, particularly later second half and ET, was with him slap in the middle of it. Maybe my standards are higher than some others but when we needed someone to grab it by the scruff of the neck, he didn't do it, not for the first time lately either. AyeDubbleYoo Posted Sunday at 17:12 Share Posted Sunday at 17:12 Thought he was class when he came on, just Isak had to go off so we were unlikely to score.

Strangely I thought he really did try to take the game by the scruff of the neck and mostly succeeded. If the result had gone our way people would have said he was getting back to his best. Lush Vlad Posted Sunday at 17:16 Share Posted Sunday at 17:16 Yeah. I thought he was a minor positive from today. Along with Tino at left back and Dubravka. Before they were sadly both at fault to some degree for Brighton’s second goal.
