Us despising this season is an indication of how far we've come but I place the lion's share of that at the feet of Eddie, his staff and the players. If some of our top players see the timeline and measure it against their longevity and feel like it's time to move on, fair play. Thank you for the cup. So they want to be at club that will provide them with the platform to do that - it's all well and good Hopkinson telling the world Newcastle are going to win everything in five years without presenting a clear plan as to how. If the players wanted us to be challenging for the title by now and have a brand new stadium and training complex, then they were always going to leave, as that was never going to be completed within their time at the club. He’s a good player no doubt but not sure about elite… Arsenal have a premium of power over precision at the minute and he does fit that but for me elite means more.
