I might be wrong.  But I think it's to do with how he strikes the ball.  He never gets any power into it and you never expect him to beat the keeper from long range.  Not necessarily down to his accuracy or finishing ability if he is in a bit closer.

It's not a disaster.  He is very good at other things.  But his shooting is weak as piss, IMO.

His striking technique is definitely poor, it's like he's constantly holding the Finesse button in on FIFA.

Seemed less involved than usual and with less touches and passes.  But much more involved  if that makes sense?

So much of what he is doing in these clips is directly resulting in chances, counters, assists, shots etc.

Really hope he is going to make this number 8 role his own and we can see him with more passes like last night that caused all kinds of problems.

Yup, constantly played the pass that put us in position to threaten or threaded the killer ball himself.

Could see Isak was excited to have him closer to him. We will see a lot of passes sending Isak clear from Bruno.

Basically get him to help in the first phase, get it to Tonali or wide. Get him involved in the final phase for the killer ball. If it does not work, let him recycle with Tonali and do it again.

I think he could prove to be really good playing further forward. Not necessarily scoring goals but beating a man and creating chances for Isak.

IMO he has the skills to be the most creative player on the team.

I feel like he's always been our most creative player, it just didn't show as much because he was deeper, and even then he still managed it a lot of times.

Almiron's purple patch was largely due to the understanding he developed with Bruno, who always spotted his runs in behind, even from that deeper spot.

I think we're going to be blown away by how much more creative he'll be further forward.

When he first came in from Lyon and all his highlights were doing the rounds, the first thing that stood out were the ridiculous through balls he played to forward players.

It's just much easier for us to attack when that ball is coming from Bruno to Isak who's running forward and into space. Bruno played Isak for his goal. Played the ball to Isak for Gordon's goal. Played the ball to Isak for no-foul in the box. All into space, all quick and decisive.

Yeah, exactly.

I'm really looking forward to it.

It's an unbelievable ability he has that we haven't fully capitalised on yet.

As your examples show, him being in that position was instrumental to our performance yesterday.

It's honestly a bit odd to me that people seem to be seeing it as a new thing. It's as though people have been conditioned into thinking he's just a ball spraying quarterback, but he was dynamite in his earlier days for us in more offensive areas. It wasn't that long ago, either.

Wouldn't want to let him go in January nor would I want Nunes personally

I totally understand the narrative that it's good practice to sell players "at their peak". Totally understand our predicament within the confines of PSR and the possibility a "star" needs to go BUT this lad isn't the one. Obviously if he wants to go that's a completely different matter.

At a risk of going over the top, I'm loyal to our players. Always have been. Said before that picking my top team in the 70's had far too many of our players in. Thing is, football is fucked. Ruined by greed and corrupt af. Ashley did me in. I stopped going. Didn't stop watching but with reduced interest/emotional post match effect. I'm also a bit sad, for football, that the only way we could have any chance to compete was to lure owners that were no better, if not way worse, that those already corrupting the beautiful game.

Having an NUFC that's giving us something to cheer again is magnificent, despite my cynicism and misgivings. Bruno, however, is such a shining light in all that grime. He warms the very cockles of my heart with his antics. Kissing Antony on the forehead, giving Barnes that big cuddle, that heart beating away on his sleeve constantly. He appears to absolutely love being here, being Captain. We need to keep him, keep him happy, get up that fucking table and make the lad a legend on a par with Milburn, Supermac, Keegan and Shearer.

Fans’ heads have been fucked with due to PSR. Anyone who actually wants to sell Bruno or Isak is misguided IMO.

Brighton are a club of loads of players at the same level, numbers on a spreadsheet, interchangeable with the next guy who comes along to replace them. I can’t speak for them, but I’d be surprised if their fans are always talking about out how much Carlos Baleba loves the club.

Of course we need to manage our finances better and avoid desperation situations like this summer. But I really don’t want a ‘sell your best players’ strategy.

I’m naive/optimistic in general obviously, but I really hope we can avoid becoming  a soulless player import/export business.

We could do all of that if we were actually allowed to spend our money. If we aren't and are consistently spending less than the cartel clubs then eventually the best players will leave. We have to find some way of increasing our revenues sooner rather than later.

Bruno will be on the shortlist for every top tier club looking for a midfielder, as he’s elite level and not already at a club challenging for the CL. Just the way it is

I wouldn’t want to sell at all, but certainly not in January as v hard to see any replacement coming in at the right level. Anyone who wants to cash in needs to reflect on whether they think the clubs recruitment processes are where they need to be yet to get quality in, Brighton it ain’t

It's the only way a club can increase its competitiveness against more established clubs in the current financial ruleset.

It's not an exact science and it's not a guarantee, but buy a player low and sell high, and use that money to buy 2 more potential players, is the only way to bridge the gap financially.

If we also show that we're willing to allow players to move on to 'bigger clubs' (in the mind of the player), players will be more likely to join us, knowing that they can use us as a platform or a stepping stone and not be restricted from moving on.

It's a completely dispassionate and pragmatic approach, and I also agree with the romanticism of talisman-esque players from yesteryear, but things are different now, definitely for the worse, but we as a club have to adapt to keep up. We have the luxury of at least having owners that will seemingly allow us to spend to the absolute limit, lots of other clubs don't have that, so we're in the best position to make this work.

Back to Isak, the lad is great. We haven't had a forward like him since Cole. But if we were to sell him, there's a potential we can buy a few more Halls, Livramentos etc. Not all will come good, but that's the game now.
