SUPERTOON
Got to say I’m massively surprised and delighted at how solid we have looked defensively the last few weeks.

Cronky
There's a big change in mindset. We don't just hope we can win, we believe we can win. And Dan Burn was a bit of a revelation. He looked like the CB we've been searching for.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Not long back in. Proper gritty win, but deserved. No reason we can't push on and finish in a comfortable midtable position tbh. There's a togetherness and determination that Behedward's* managed to instil and that was clearly lacking under the fat buttery bastard. Trippier's a massive part of it. It's difficult to describe, sitting there seeing it first hand, the influence he's had on the ten around him. The bloke is a revelation. *any unwashed reading, get fucked you third division tinpot cunts

I know Watford had a disappointing finale but that's the outlier from the group. We're extremely up for it at home. Even Cambridge was 'one of those games' (stick Wood in there and we probably progress). We're bastards to get points off at home. ...........since Eddie Howe took over. The Mackems would be proud of such kneejerking. https://www.villatalk.com/topic/22443-steven-gerrard/page/288/ I could understand an oppositions fan being a little shocked by the result/game if one just uses league position and the well known horrific first half of the season we've had to set expectations. They may have disregarded the two wins and thought it was going to be an easy ride. Bit early to turn on the manager though tbh. I guess they know best as they watch it every week. But results seemed to show otherwise. If our owners made the decision to give Stevie G a swerve and go for Eddie instead then its looking a good one right now.
Yorkie
Joking aside I'd be a bit mortified seeing Howe sulking in his chair like that whilst getting beat. Sorta stroppy shite you see in the pub leagues.

DMLeazesender
Just thinking a few weeks back when we were being linked with everyone.... Gerard was linked as possible manager with Coutinho and Dignes linked as possible signings.....ok, we know most of it was media bollocks now..... but if it had of happened we missed three fucking curveballs there!! I bet the Villa fans wished they hadn't let Targett come to us now. They are not happy with SlippyG.

dcmk
As happy as I am about the result.. It's annoying as hell that can't get through a game without picking up injuries.

I think when we were managerless and had no idea who was coming in people were happy for Gerrard (lets face it, anyone was gonna be an improvement on Bruce) but once EH was announced I think most people got behind him. Personally I've always hated SlippyG so never wanted him, can't stand the twat.

Superior Acuña
https://www.themag.co.uk/2022/02/steven-gerrard-on-newcastle-united-var-decision-and-stunning-statistic/ Good comments from Gerrard like, the kind you want to hear as a fan Quote “Sometimes you perform to a level where you make your own luck…but our level was nowhere near today, so we got what we deserved from this game. “It might have been different if that [Watkins’ disallowed goal] had gone in our favour….but we’d be clutching at straws if we were pointing fingers towards VAR. “I don’t think Newcastle have had to play ever so well to beat us, that’s a big frustration as well. “It was a really bad day for us and I was surprised with the performance we gave. “There were no signs of that in the preparation and collectively we need to improve. “There is a lot of work to do and changes to be made in the team as well. “We slightly improved after the break and we had 10 or 15 minutes when we pushed, but in terms of what we created in the game, that was a concern. “We had one shot on target and the goal we conceded was poor from our point of view. “VAR have took a long time to make a decision and that tells you it’s extremely close. “We have no complaints with the outcome. “We have to be careful we don’t get dragged down.”
Guest HTT II
Really impressed with us again off the ball, very Rafa like. Villa were poor I thought, for all their possession second half they didn’t threaten and were very powder puff. They were poor I thought and you wouldn’t know Coutinho was even on the pitch!
