You see the appearance stats underneath a panelests' name on a football programme and you know it essentially means, without even being a dick about it, that they were average at absolute best and achieved nothing. It's the stats you see below the likes of Robbie Savage and Steve Claridge. Bruce getting to over 1000 games is only an achievement in the sense that he shouldn't have managed anywhere near that many due to him being consistently absolutely shite.
