Wtf? They have MASSIVELY over achieved like ourselves. He has done a great job. Why wouldn't they want continuity. Guess we will see if they have big money to be pumped into the squad over the summer. Skeptical any of those managers are interested without it. On top of that they have someone that knows the league and is clearly taking them in the right direction.

Mackem 101.

I seem to remember that the Reid side played lots of ‘diagonal passes’ from their own half onto Niall Quinn’s head.  Maybe the Lu’on fan not in peace should have called it ‘diagonal passing’

Subjected to Reid, Wilkinson, McCarthy, O'Neill, Allardyce and no notable good football between times suddenly become the guardians of total footballing philosophy in much the same way as they found other hitherto undisplayed morals.

That 1-2 in 00/01 was the most shameless exhibition of long-ball football I've ever seen in the flesh or on TV. They didn't even try to do anything else.

All in the league next season, it's going to be so tough to repeat what they've done this season.

Millwall and one of Luton or xov as well.

There will always be a surprise package. Could quite easily see Huddersfield continue on the buzz and build something, but could equally see them falling apart, especially if Colin Wanker leaves.

Swansea are always a couple of decent signings away from their style working, and Bristol city seem to know how to spot a talent. Also think stoke will be better next year.

Lots of teams who could rise up, it was them this time. Very hard to repeat that again without major investment and most of your best players being on loan.

Very interesting to see whst happens next, its wide open, especially if an internal power struggle kicks off in thr boardroom or they do something daft like sack a manager that the fans have taken to.

Yeah, Swansea ended the season unbeaten in 9 with 23 points from 27, finishing just 3 points off the PO's - if they had 3 or 4 more regular league matches they could have quite easily gone up, so will be interesting to see what they do next year.

Stoke ended the season badly (2 points from 7) but they did show flashes in that period when they beat S'land 5-1 and Cov 4-0, a few other good results / performances around that time, and there must surely have been a reason why Neil went there from the Mackems, so they could be in the mix.

Should be an interesting year.

If they keep Mowbray, I think they'll be seen as a good destination for loanees and will get decent replacements. The EFL probably needs to limit the numbers though, as it's ridiculous how some clubs f**k themselves with how many they play.

Cheers, he’s genuinely hilarious to the point where it’s almost a parody.

His crew are about as Mackem as you can get. Parody is a great description.

Fuck man, their reactions are as stereotypical Mackem as you can get. Been to Coventry once and it's an actual city with culture, heritage and some form of metropolis. Basically the complete opposite of chicken town.
