Well it kind of dampens any win when the oppo don’t care.

So you really think they won't actually care, honestly? They will be exactly like this every single one of them:

Maybe it's cause I've not lived in Newcastle for 13 years, and a good friend here in Toronto is a Sunderland fan, but I'm not fussed with their promotion. Wouldn't mind Middlesborough back up too.

More points for us (I hope)

It's a good thing for North East football, IMO. This season our closest game was Man City/Man United I think? :thdn:

I'm not local so maybe I don't get it, but I'm much more interested in having the derbies back than watching another terrible season of Sheffield United.

Plus watching them set a goals conceded record will be good fun.

If Sunderland were any good.

I really don't like the derbies and have always agreed with Keegan's outlook that it's a rivalry that should be beneath us, but I'm sure the matches themselves will be good.

Found the commentary team's comments about the game so weird during the match really bizarre though. The way they were talking you'd have thought Sheff United were 3 nil up and that seemingly unexpected moments don't happen in finals. It was always clear that at 1 nil they'd get at least one big chance.

Their main signing next season is Le Fee. They've been running up huge losses for years so they won't be able to spend. That team they’ve got there is far worse than that Southampton team that came up this time last year.

They why are you so bloody worried about playing them?

Don't they have a few players on loan, meaning they'll have to spend quite a bit just to stand still?

Already signed Isidor.

It’s funny I’ve seen the same people so confident about beating Everton tomorrow now suddenly worried about the derby games.

The gap between Newcastle & Sunderland has never been greater.

Time to find out the validity of the claim from the powers that be that the ‘bubble trip’ last season was only due to the size of the allocation stands up…

They’re really not equipped for the big league and I can’t see how they can compete.

I’ve a good few good mates who support them so I’m happy for them.

They absolutely rode their luck today and against Coventry. Sheff U weren’t the same once Hamer went off and fell off a cliff once they conceded.

That's been my outlook entirely, didn't know the great man had that outlook, maybe where I got it from.

Actually agreed with Gullit's comments on it before that infamous game too. That they were derbies but not big games. Not for us, or shouldn't have been after what we experienced in the years prior. They had/have nothing else so it is for them, but that wasn't the case for us. Though ironically Ruud helped make it so for a couple years.

I'm not remotely worried about the club itself but I must admit I am worried about the type of tackle that absolutely nailed Brereton-Diaz today. They'll fly into those with regularly and could do some serious damage to our better players. They'll not give a shit about a card they'll go out of their way to injure our better players, I genuinely believe that too. They know they can't compete so they'll try and kick us off the park and not give a fuck about it in the process

Because Luton were fucking shit as well and still managed to take 4 points off us.

Do you have any idea how football actually works?? The best team doesn't automatically win every time. If they did the game would be pointless.

Luton still went straight back down by the way.
