Looking at social media, it might be their best result of the season supposedly beating us to this bloke! Mental how they’re going on about it!

If any sunderland, or football fan in general, genuinely believes that anybody - player, coach or executive staff - would seriously choose sunderland over Newcastle in 2025 needs their head examined.

O’Nien screams a VAR red in first two games, same for Ballard. They are a donkey team where reality will hit hard and the boos after 10 games and half empty stadium will be very funny.

O'nien could seriously hurt someone. He's a reckless snidey player to cover his inadequacies, and will be so out of his depth in the PL his recklessness could be dangerous.

He also does horrible things like kissing opposition players and laughing about it.

There's a clip of him on youtube jumping on someone's back after he had been done for pace (not unusual for him) and that was in the lower leagues.

Chuckling at the thought of you being offended by this.

Lad at work thinks they’re going to easily win their first three games and will top of the league.

God, I hope West Ham literally hammer them and bring them crashing back down to Earth.

It will be an easy 0-3 to West Ham. At a canter.

Being further south, have some Ipswich friends who were of similar mindset last season. Back to back seasons of winning, felt once they got first two games out of the way their quality would show. Reality check when Fulham at home was very hard fought point (banking on that being win) and the theme continuing up to they were smashed away to an awful West Ham side. Hope only remained for while after because Wolves were down with them, so it was very much "Can stay up with 25 points" positive outlook, instead of the 40 that you often need :D

Ipswich are a far better side than Sunderland too.

There'll be loads of Sunderland fans that think they can win games when only at 90%, but they won't. Be conceding 3+. Going to have be at 100% levels every game, every minute to stand a chance of a point in the first place.

RTG has been DDOS’d all day apparently?

We have been getting coordinated botnet attacks for a couple of days now. Until last night they had never managed to knock the server offline for more than a minute or two, but the latest was on a different level.

They are bypassing Cloudflare and going directly to the server and hitting us with a full range of Syn Flood, UDP and TCP attacks on both IPv4 and to a lesser extent IPv6.

There is a decent firewall in front of the server, but when you are being hit with hundreds of thousands of requests from countries all around the world it is difficult to block them without blocking legitimate traffic.

The problem is further exacerbated when the data centres get involved and to protect other services just block all access to our IP addresses at the edge of their networks - you then have to persuade them to remove that block to even allow you to investigate.
