they must spend, they need to spend 100 million to at least have a chance of survival.

Out of curiosity how much did Dreyfus pay for them? Must be a hell of an ROI for him.

They were valued at £40m when he bought them. Who knows what he paid, considering the guys before him got the club for nothing, and were desperate to get out, you’d think he might have got a good deal.

The big test of his ownership commitment will be that now they are in the Premier League, how long he will hold onto them when an American consortium will no doubt come looking.

They beat off competition from  Leeds so the competition was strong.

I'm sure at some point in the near future he'll have turned down the mags too.

Dunno why Dortmund didn't buy this lad instead of Bellingham

Feel like these might've got their act together in terms of transfer policy tbh. Certainly compared to the past, when they only sold one player for profit.

Shopping in France just seems smart.

Probably heard the massive lads fans were interested and thought they couldn't compete with them.

I predict the Nissan overtime to start in September when they are rock bottom and been hammered a few times. They may sign a few good players but untried at this level and they still have a load of shit unless they replace 8 or 9

I seriously don't see how some random from France is getting ya shit together like, its just what normal clubs do. This guy is nothing special at all, £30m gets you average today and his performances as said on here are nothing to write home about, nothing to fret about but you never know [emoji38]

Where are the survival odds? I can only find ‘to be relegated’?

if the relegation odds are 1/2 , survival will be around 13/8 mate

But they will not be in the Premier league next April/May.

He only started 3 of Strasbourg's last 8 Ligue 1 games. I know that's not the be-all-and-end-all, but they'll do well to get their money back if they have the season everyone outside of Wearside thinks they're going to have.

In fairness he played every game until an ankle injury kept him out for a few games - there’s little doubt he was a Strasbourg first choice XI player.

It’s not a smart fee they’ve paid tbh
