What I don't like is the comment by the OP who says "these new players clearly just 'get' the club and the city". I hate this football cliché about players "getting" a club, what the **** does this actually mean? How does Nordi Mukeleli putting in a decent defensive shift have any connection to his understanding of the city of Sunderland? I feel the same , obviously want them to struggle but even with how well they have started it hasn't even bothered me .We have won a cup and are back in the champions league again, they will never experience any of that. The best they can do really is finish mid table and hope to scrape a win in the derby but that's as good as it's ever going to be for them. Under Ashley it was all about beating and finishing above them as he dragged us down to such a bad level but now we have far bigger fish to fry.
