Couldn't believe how empty it looked. Would be surprised if there was even 40k there (no doubt they'd pretend there was anyway ). Didn't think the Premier League novelty would wear off as quickly, especially when they're doing well.

Possibly looked worse than it was due to the rain. People funding spare seats further back so all tge empty ones were concentrated at the front. Also spots where people stand like our corner used to be might have doubled up to get out of the rain.

In that case there would have had to be loads of empty seats up towards the back for them to move into unless they were sitting on someones knee. You couldn't do that at SJP because there would be no spare seats under cover. There was loads of empty seats opposite the camera and in the North Stand where all the fans remain seated during the match, suppose they could double up in the South Stand where the fans stand towards the back. 

 

Looked more like a lot of their jonny come lately fans took one look at the weather and thought, nah fuck that.

The 'SoL Expansion' thread over on RTG is peak delusion. 

I don't know why they just can't accept that the SoL is about the right size for them, if possibly a few thousand seats too big. 

The evidence is there right in front of everybody's eyes, they can't fill their stadium even when they are the best they've been in living memory and are in a Champions League place.

Their home support is woeful but i suppose you can say that about just about every English team these days. A few Fulham fans took to Social media last week to say the mackem support there was the quietest away support they'd had so far this season.

No surprises here, but our Makem-marra cousins are still on track for their best ever Premier season. 17 points above their worst season (for same number of games), 9 points above their average, and two points above their best. Also, 10 points above the average points total for the team eventually finishing in 18th. Hats off to them. It's rare that a quickly cobbled together team clicks so well.

 

Even if they go into a tailspin through December and January (Liverpool A; Man City A, NUFC H, Brighton A, Leeds H; Man City H, Spurs A, Brentford A, Palace H, West Ham A) they will still be fine, e.g. their current points total of 22 is what you'd expect the average 'relegated in 18th team' to have at the  end of January.

Aye, fair play to them. Have to give huge credit to Reggie like. Another Forrin manager taking the piss out of our English journeymen. 

 

I've said before, we've had a canny few years of laughing at these but they're doing well now. Obvs this increases the jeopardy in our matches with the added extremes of elation/pain in either event. Losing is such a bastard BUT isn't that what football is all about?

The times I've watched them they have been average to poor. I'm still puzzled as to how they have so many points. They definitely don't look like a good team.

They look well organised and solid with no flair and minimum goal threat. A bit like us under Rafa when he was operating on a limited budget under the FCB. Should be good a 12-15th place finish this season.

They're genuinely decent this season, our game should be a cracker. Interesting to see what they do in the summer if they have a decent top half finish.
