"Given them a game"

The classic.

Applied to Champions League semi-finalists PSG last season, and now to Premier League winning Liverpool this season.

They’d be better off concentrating on giving Coventry and Hull a game.

Teams they can give a game: PSG, Liverpool

Teams they can't give a game: Coventry, literally Newcastle

They have porridge for brains

The deluded minds still think their club is some way relevant.

The previous couple of derby games is where we were literally at rock bottom. Worst shape the club has been in the modern era and beating us at that point in time is their peak as a club and city.

Forever in our shadow.

Catching up with `Not 606 Sunderland`

Isn't it brilliant, every good side we beat, they automatically think, that they could also "give them a game".

Broken, absolutely broken!

It’s exactly what happened last time - but instead of Dolly and friends heading to Sunderland town centre for signatures, today it’s all online

I suspect that this time it’ll make zero difference

It’s over for them. They’re living in their worst nightmare and it’s only gonna’ get worse. It’s glorious what’s happened in the 8 years since our promotion.

They mocked us for going down, told us to “enjoy Burton - away”, then got relegated twice in a row (by Burton - away) spending four years in division 3. They’ve lost play off finals, got taught a lesson by us in the cup, featured in a Netflix series which made them a national laughing stock, were owned by the don and have become a very distant memory to the cognoscenti of the ever evolving Premier League.

Everything they tried to convince themselves was not going to happen is slowly, one by one, happening. We weren’t gonna get a takeover, no good players would sign for us, Eddie Howe wasn’t good enough and we wouldn’t stay up, we wouldn't get into Europe, we wouldn’t win in Europe, we wouldn’t get to a final, we wouldn’t win a cup.

The dominoes are falling Mackems. Your house of (season) cards is ablaze and stood atop its ashes is a boot. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a black and white boot stamping on a red and white shirt - forever.
