KaKa
To think I actually thought Potter would do well at West Ham. What a way to start the season man. Absolutely criminal Just imagine how West Ham fans will be feeling already. Just brutal.

I want to see as many interesting games as possible. They're a better team than they get credit for on here, but stop with this cucked mentality. We'll take 6 points off them this season. Mattoon
Good result for Sunderland and they'll be thinking they're going to breeze survival this season based off that display, but it cannot be overstated just how bad West Ham looked, slow, laborious, idealess and toothless. There's much bigger tests to come, newly promoted teams tend to come out the stocks all guns blazing. This result doesn't bother me, let them have their day in the sun it'll soon be rough waters for them.

Late 20s early 30s would have been safe last season.

If they had lost that game I think they would have been marooned in the Championship for a good few years. As it is, they will very likely stay up as they have their tactics right compared to previous promoted teams. It wont be a pretty watch for their support though. Yep always felt they were always staying up this season.
wyn davies
If we want a positive from this result in 74/75 Carlisle Utd were top of the old Div 1 and got relegated at the end of the season, plenty of time yet, bit more living in the past 😀

Andy
West Ham are shite, but to be fair to Sunderland they looked robust enough and showed they can score goals. If you're hard to beat in this league it's half the battle, most of the teams that have come up in recent years have been wide open and constantly caused themselves problems of their own making. They have a chance of staying up.
Gawalls
I’ve always said I wouldn’t slag Sunderland off as my dad supports them, just phoned him and listening to “I am really worried that Liverpool are going to nick our players as well” is really testing me. Moose
Great result for them, but West Ham are complete bums, I'd be distraught if we didn't pump West Ham at home

The Prophet
Fair play, they needed to get early points on the board and they've made a good start. Still way too early to draw any conclusions about their chances of staying up like. Edited August 16, 2025 by The Prophet

Geordie Ahmed
They have some kind fixtures to start, I can see them on 9 points after 3 games but that's against teams that will be in and around them at the bottom all season They then have Palace (a), Villa (H) and Forest (a), that's when the real test starts
