Being happy for them? What the fuck did I just read? Have people forgot how they acted when we got relegated, when we got taken over, when they magically became aware of human rights and experts on geopolitical issues.

They are fucking rotten, I wish nothing but the worse for them.

They’ll be convinced of a victory in the derby (well the fans certainly) which plays into our hands really. I thought their midfield did pretty well against Arsenals but if our midfield is on song we can have them. Hall and Livramento back will make a massive difference and you’d like to think Wissa will be an option. If we hit some form before then we’ve got the players to turn them over.

They are now so over confident, they just have to turn up and they win.  They are going to be crying when we teach them a lesson.

That’s completely wrong mind. We go into nearly every game as underdogs. It’ll be the same for the derby too.

Good result last night. Did what we had to do against the best team in the league - keep it physical, go direct, look to bully them, and take the chances when they come. Clinical stuff.

We’re halfway to the survival target after 11 games. Just keep looking to pick up results whilst the bottom 6 continue to struggle.

Remember the Leeds one from last season where their keeper essentially

Missed the ball and it rolled into his own net

Play-Off Final the Sheff Utd striker gives them the ball on a plate at 1-1. One of the biggest sliding doors moments in the Premier League era.

I have been impressed at your physicality and spirit to not give up. I guess it’ll be interesting to see if the grind of the league catches up with you, injuries, ACFON etc, fatigue, dips in form. Teams will also start to change the way they play against you which is often what happens in the premier league.

Strongly agree, would give 10 stars if allowed

Lack of Europe and Cups massively helps them like. They can train and prepare for a week. If we go well in a few cup competitions, we easily could play an extra 20 games than them.

Gonna be such a spicy derby like. Bring it on!

Fair enough - I'm certainly not enjoying their success and won't be sad when their current reun of form ends, but if we can't even have some begrudging appreciation for what they are doing, then let's not try and claim we are any better as a set of fans than they are.

Sunderland fans who created a private safe space on their forum to spout their bile about Newcastle. Yeah lovely bunch that lot. Their irrational hatred of Newcastle is off the scale.

Is that not kind of what this place is in some ways…?

Personally, I don't think so. "Fuck Sunderland" and a bit of twist isn't the same level as fabricating stories about Newcastle, rewriting history, boycotting products endorsed by NUFC (or that have Black and White in them), constant posts about whether Durham County Mags are real Mags or Ex SAFC, etc etc.

They're another level, IMHO. It's funny as fuck. They're like the football version of MAGA  MˢAᶠᶜGA!

To be honest I don’t read their forum so you might well be right, but certainly this is a protected space where people sometimes come to (put blandly) be negative about Sunderland as a place (as they should be, it’s a vile city) and a team (who are undeniably playing / doing surprisingly well this season).

I don’t wish them well at all but I do think their players and manager deserve the praise they’re getting. I think one can transcend the tribalism to make that observation without it being controversial.

I think it’s fair enough giving them credit like. They’ve done well - despite people on here blindly claiming they’ll get humped every week.

However I wish them nothing but the very worst. Fuck them.
